Hi Everyone! Boy, do I love Christmas and think that if I could be a little less of my jolly old self by then, life will be good! I am shooting for 25 lbs. down by then - but I won't be starting until I return from my business trip on 9/1/04. Actually, I will strive to shoot for starting now, but so far, I am not sure it can happen . Can't believe Christmas will be here before ya know it!!! Merry Weight Loss !!
So today is my "official" weigh in day, though I actually weigh myself every morning, just for the hell of it. This morning, I was up *three pounds* from yesterday morning, and a pound above what I was when I started posting to this thread (up to 251.5). Am I discouraged? . . . well, almost. I know this is just one of those stupid daily fluxuations -- lord knows why, as I ate well yesterday. It can't be TOM (hasn't been for over 8 years!) so I guess I have to chalk it up to the position of the stars!
Plan: South Beach
Stats: 325.4/228/175
BF:mostly!
Progress: 65%
Location: Indianapolis Area
Hers something I learned about this WOE,,,sometimes before a big whoosh,,,your body will hold on to water for a day or two, driving your weight up,
Also, if you have had a weight loss of a couple of pounds, your fat cells will replace that fat with water for a day or two, then let go permanently.
Just a little encouragement there....
I know I'm a little late, but I'd love to join the challenge too!!!! I'll put my goal at 30 pounds, and that will put me into onederland- a place that I haven't been in since I was about 19!!!!!! YIKES!!!! That would be quite the Christmas present to myself, and my family.
Everyone is doing great, and yes, even those of you that gained this last week!! Hey, we're all TRYING aren't we???!!!!! 100 times better than NOT trying!!!!!!
Thanks for the encouragement, musicmama. I've been tracking my daily weight for about 7 weeks -- in part to see if I CAN see any patterns -- and so far I don't see any great losses following those dramatic gains. Most of the time, it all disappears within the next two or three days, but that's about all I can say. It will be interesting to see what my weight is tomorrow morning, and for the next week or so -- if, in fact, I drop dramatically I'll be happy!
Is there room for one more in your challenge? I think this is the motivation and support I need. I'd love to be down 20 lbs by then! That would put me at 178 pounds!!!!!! I haven't been there in YEARS!!!!!!!!!
There is always plenty of room for people who need motivation or will give motivation.
Is there going to be a daily thread? I reckon daily weight postings would be best served in your journal...and weekly postings toward your goal in HERE. Otherwise this thread would get too large to read. I figure we must have a couple of dozen commited folx in here.
BUT that is just my opinion. My real opinion is that whatever helps the most folx gain the greatest health and motivation is the best course to take.
Regardless, how often you post your weight loss, welcome to the Christmas present to ourselves thread AND I dearly LOVE your signature line! Now THAT is the way to get motivated!
Count me in on the challenge. Over the past three months I have slowly gained back about 15 pounds...and I wasn't at my goal yet!! I have piddled with "semi low carb" plans for the past month and have lost a bit but have decided that Atkins is by far the easiest plan to follow...particularly for a single guy who is on the go alot. So I'm back on track!!!
Forgot to add my goal:
40 by December 25. Start date 8/17/04
