I just wanted to drop in and say thanks. I was having a &$#~! of a day today and decided I wanted to make some bacon. It would not have put me over on carbs at all, but I know I have to watch calories, so rather than cook the bacon, I thought about the Christmas gift and decided against having the bacon. I was still hungry but not starving so all in all I was and am happy with the extra motivation this commitment provided. It helps that I subscribed to this thread - no getting around it since I get at least one reminder a day!

I'd like to join -- hoping to be at goal by Christmas. I have put a few extra pounds BACK on (weighed in at 183.5 this morning) and DO need the extra challenge of being accountable. I've got vacation coming up in September and want to be back at a solid sustainable 175 by then.

All I want for Christmas is to stay on track!

Even if I don't lose anything from now and then, at least I know that I haven't given in.

I hope to keep the will power and motivation that I have this morning.

BUT, if I good lose 2 pounds a week, I'd be happy

I'd like to lose 32 pounds by end of November, but I'd be happy with any loss!

Merry Christmas

Wow - 7 pounds - that is awesome. Not once, not even in induction did I ever lose 7 pounds in one week. One time 6-7 years ago I lost 14 pounds in two weeks but that was on a starvation plan - and of course we can all see the results of such a plan... Congratulations and thanks for posting as that adds motivation!

Talking Christmas 2004

This is so weird. I was just thinking about this yesterday. I actually got out a calendar & counted to see how many weeks were left til Xmas & New Year's Eve. I decided to try & make a big push for the remainder of the year & try to drop 35 lbs by Dec 31st. That'll make an even 100 lbs for the year. My secondary goal is 100 lbs by Valentine's Day, but I'm gonna try to make the primary goal-if I can do it without making myself crazy! All I want for Christmas is a size 18! Charlotte

I'm already doing the Christmas Challenge but I'll join in here too for extra support.

It's been hard to get back on track.

As of today we have 19 weeks left. Last time I weighed in was on Monday and scale said 188. (?) I'm having scale issues so I hope that is correct but anyways, I would like to be at 145 by then so I need to lose 2.6 pounds a week.

Merry Christmas!

We can do it!

Count me in -- but without a numerical goal. Every time I try to set one of those, my weight loss slows down dramatically! I've been losing VERY slowly for the past two months, though the last two or three weeks things finally seem to be picking up again. Originally, I thought I might be below 200 by Christmas, and if I'd continued to lose at the 2 pounds a week I started, that would have been realistic -- but it isn't anymore

So, my goal is a simple one: to weigh less on Christmas than I do now, and to not get discouraged no matter how slowly the weight is coming off -- as long as it keeps coming off.

My "official" weigh in is on Mondays, but I'll put what I weighed this morning in my sig.

The present I am building myself starts with a 3 pound weight loss for week one. I'll take it. Happily.

I wanna join too!! I need a challenge!
Two pounds a week would be awesome for me, but my age and a history of yo yo dieting my hinder that, so , SInce I am now a size 24, I will set my goal at size 20 by Christmas! That would be the best present I have had in a long time. So, here goes, size 20 in layaway!!! Every pound off is a payment!!
