I've used a sugar free Metamucil knock-off (Wal-Mart brand) and I've used plain psyllium husks, which tastes nasty and you keep tasting it for awhile. Both of them gave me limited and sporadic success.
The thing that finally kept me fairly consistently unclogged was upping my salad consumption to 3 or more times a day. Nothing special, often just lettuce, olive oil and a little lower carb dressing. The olive oil might be helping to! All I know is I NO LONGER have problems with it and haven't touched a fiber supplement in quite some time.
I read all the posts, do any of you know why capsules that are pure Psyllium husks, would have only 5g every 6 capsules? It seems too small. Especially if a tsp of has 5g on some of th posts.
