I am 56 years old and had been on HRT for 7 years but stopped taking it last year due to news stories indicating that long term use may harm your heath. I then went on clonidine which is a blood pressure med but can be used for hot flashes. It helped a lot but I don't want to take any prescription meds unless necessary so my doctor has reduced my dose and I will stop taking it by July. The problem is the hot flashes have returned. I haven't tried any natural remedies yet but I may try the Swiss Formula HRT. I started getting hot flashes when I was 47 years old so I hope their days are numbered.

I take Red Clover. It is a plant based estrogen. The only time I get night sweats is when I don't take it for two days.

I have been using the progesterone cream for a few months and this stuff saved my sanity and zero hot flashes... I am 46 and have been in meno for about 7 years.. This stuff also gets rid of water retention from estogen dominance.Life saver

I take what is billed a 'prescription strength, timed released' black cohosh. It has completely eliminated sweats and flashes. I get it in a vitimin shop. Good stuff.
