Hi to all the new Albertans who have joined this discussion.

Lenni - how has the delivery service been for lC by mail-order?

AnnaVENIS - don't worry about the scale so much. Go by how loose the clothes will become.

Taztuff & Kelly_l - how was your week?

Little Pig _ where have you been? Haven't seen you for a while.

Here's to a good weekend and less of us next week...

I just got my order from lowcarbdepot. I hate paying for shipping but kind of glad I ordered. Usually when I go to Edmonton I'm rushed (and lost most of the time....lemme tell ya, never go to millwoods road without a guide).

I think I will order from them again...I got it in about 4 days.

SND canada has always been good too as far as quick turn around.

RECIPES????? did somebody day RECIPES"?????? <grin>

Hi All!

I really enjoy the multigrain low carb bread, Carb Conscious.
My daughter and I were shoppin' at Costco at the beginnin' of last week. The bread cost $5.49 for two loaves.
Imagine my surprise to find the exact same item in Co-op at a cost of $4.29 per loaf!
I guess we'll have to pay more to weigh less!

Have a great weekend!
Many Bright Blessings!

Default First recipie that I tried

This recipie is for bars like the Atkins bars. I made these but they were a little softer than I would have liked. I have them cooling in the fridge hoping that they will firm up. They taste yummy though. I also have recipies for syrups like DaVinci ones. You can make any flavor. You interested? I would mail the whole set, but I can't seem to do that, I tried. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Instead I will try and post one every time I try making it.

Maple Vanilla Protein Bars
4 oz cream cheese
1 stick butter (1/4 lb)
1 cup soy protein powder
1 cup Vanilla Protein Powder
1/2 cup Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup
1/4 cup Sugar Free Maple Syrup
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Melt cream cheese and butter . Mix in protein powders.
Add syrups and vanilla extract and mix. Press into loaf pan and chill.

Makes 12 bars; Approx 5 carbs

Just an FYI

I was at the Diabetic Depot in Ranchlands today and they told me they are having the Grand Opening March 13. There are going to be free draws and they will be sampling some of the food.

mmmmmmm that sounds yummy....

I would really love to swap recipes and plan to persue that idea just as soon as im not so swamped with homework (I REEEEALLY HATE STATISTICS!!!).

Ive experimented a bit with things. I bought some chocolate decadence atkins bars (those come from the states) and I hated them. So I took a regular protein bar recipe (cream cheese, protein powder, etc), then melted the atkins bars and stirred them in and it really was an improvement (I just couldnt part with all the money I put out on them).

Last night I had pork chops, cauliflower and cheese. I over ate even though I didnt eat anything too terrible, and I feel like I gained weight.....anybody else experience that? Actually Im too scared to step on the scale to confirm it as little things like that cause me to do stupid things that would blow this diet entirely.

Okay enough babbling for now...you all have a great day!!

Well maybe we'll see you there. It's so close to where I live that I stop by weekly to see if there's anything new.

lenni... use your weight to work through a stats question, It might make the stats more interesting. ( I did mine at MRC over 10 years ago and only remember median and +- 2)

Taz... are the clothes fitting looser? If your exercising you may be gaining muscle weight while losing fat.

No I am at a dead stop Marge....

I did not work out during this for that very reason, wanted to make sure it was working and then start working out knowing what that would do. So I have not worked out at all since starting this...... And no same clothes and not really any looser... A little yes but I noticed that in the first few weeks. Nothing in the past while for me......

Heard a rumor today that in the "Men's Fitness" magazine they say drinking coffee is good for your metabolism and loosing weight. Any truth to this?

Have no idea other than coffee is a mild stimulant.

Try the exercise too. The engine is just idling right now and needs to be revved to burm some fuel. I find the walks I'm doing are helping without building a whole lot of muscle.

Default Dead stop

I know that I am just a newbie, but I read somewhere that when you get to a dead stop, there is a last chance, low carb diet to get you started again. It is all fat, no Carbs. I remember thinking that it sounded gross. I will look around and see if I can find it.
