OK guys. Time to get serious. I need advice on a haircut. PM me and I'll send you my username and password for the site. I have 5 or 6 styles that I like, though DH doesn't like any of them.

My triceps are a little sore this morning. I hate exercising them. They seem to be pretty weak on me, but they are firm. Today will be the lower-body workout. I'll mosey on up in a bit. Grocery store is on the agenda today also. I want to get some broccoli and cauliflower for that salad I mentioned yesterday. Also need more meat (what's new about that?).

We have a freezer in the cellar, but it's currently not working. Actually, it's the outlet that's not working. The electrician is coming on Tuesday, so I'll be able to stock up again. In the kitchen I have a side-by-side fridge, and they typically don't have a lot of freezer room so it will be nice to get my freezer back.

Remember the huge container of sour cream that DH bought for me, thinking it was cottage cheese? So what can I use it for? I'm planning on getting some chicken and beef strips to saute with fajita seasoning, so I can use some of the sour cream on that. What else?

Actually, I accused him of secretly knowing that his favorite cookie recipe in the whole world is made from sour cream. So, now he wants me to make these cookies. Trouble is, they're also a favorite of mine. They're best warm, though, so I might be able to resist them after the first day.

Hope everyone is taking time for themselves during this stressful season.

OH! We saw "The Last Samurai" last night (Tom Cruise). It was extraordinary! I recommend it highly.

OK, I'm risen but not quite shining. It's snowing again here

Better food day yesterday. Haven't weighed yet, may wait till tomorrow morning. This AM's very early breakfast was an atkins bagel with lox and cream cheese, just had a snack of 1/2 cup cottage cheese.

Afternoon all!
Wow did you hear the news about Saddam being captured yesterday???

I can imagine that is GREAT NEWS for you Ellie!!!

My son-in-law to be hopefully will not be sent over now!(crossing fingers anyway!)

Elaine, glad to hear that yesterday went good! And I bet that you are sick of snow right now! You need to relocate to SD. it was 40* and will be the same today! BUT we are expecting a LARGE system Monday night, so I am sure that I will have to use the shoval to clean the bunks out again! I like the cottage cheese, but I have been eating alot of egg whites in the morning to start my day, my problem(like everyone else) is fitting the time to stop and eat mini meals!
You did it now Elaine, you gave Renee ammo for photoisland!(Bawdy and her bowflex!)SCANDELESS!!!

Bawdy, Stay strong on the cookies, or atleast just put in a long bow flex workout to smooth the calories out!! On the sour cream issue, men ARE good at that sort of manipulation!HA That is good to hear about the TOM Cruise pic being a watcher, (after Vanilla sky we were pretty hesitant to go!)

Orang, How are you today???

I need to get going, My ds is getting anxious to put up our Tree and decorate!

Have a GOOD ONE!! HELLO to Rob,Wendy,Marnie,Robin,Patchlady, and to everyone else!

Good Afternoon!!
More snow!!
Grady- I use sour cream with shredded cabbage, seasonings & shredded Asiago cheese to make Cabbage Noodle "Alfredo"..not only does the sour cream make it more like a sauce, it keeps the shredded cheese from sticking to the saute pan (or in my case, the wok) Same concept works with cauliflour that's been run through the shredding blade of a food processor...Throw in some fried up Italian sausage (out of the casing) and apply to serving dish

Well, the cookies turned out to be not such a problem after all. When we were at the grocery store this morning, I thought I bought everything I needed (basically, I was out of walnuts and flour -- walnuts because I eat them, and flour because I don't).

As soon as I got home, I realized I didn't have any shortening! I can't even remember the last time I had shortening in the house. Sometimes I make baking powder biscuits as a treat, so I buy only the itty bitty cans.

Is there a shortening substitute out there that isn't full of trans-fats? I really don't think I can substitute butter in this recipe, but maybe. It only calls for 1/2 cup. Think I should try it?

Hey, Elaine! What did you think of the hairstyles I picked out? Can't stop laughing, huh?

I kinda like the "Lisa Rinna" look (quite sexy, if you ask me). I just don't know if my hair would actually do that. It's quite fine, and I don't have tons of it. I also like the one called "Timeless classic," which is actually close to the way I wear it now, but not quite so "piecey" and it's not quite that long. I also like the "Layered Rusky," though it is a bit punk!

Your picks were interesting, but it would take me forever to grow it out that long! You must be thinking of some of the pics Orang has made of me. Those had quite long hair!

It's interesting, though. I tried long, short, and medium hair, and curly, wavy, and straight. In the long styles, my face looked fat and dragged down. The wavy and curly ones looked too fussy on me. The short ones (but not the shortest) looked the best.

You guys should try it. It's really fun! You, too, Rob! They have men's cuts also. Ever wonder what you would look like with Brad Pitt's haircut?

Rob, while I have your attention, can you give me some measurements on the sour cream, etc. in those two dishes you mentioned? I gotta say, they sound a little odd, but then they might be wonderful!

Bawdy, I PM'd you with some choices. I liked the Lisa Rinna look, it's closest to how mine is most of the time. I may have picked some slightly longer styles as I didn't know if you were in a growing phase. Are there ones that you actually picked? I just looked at the Celebrity, classic and everyday ones.

Lissette, it's turned mostly to rain here this aft, TG. I found myself hungry after the bagel this AM, may have been because I used light cream cheese instead of regular. My latest thing is doing Philly cheesesteaks without the roll and some salad on the side. That will probably be dinner.

Good Evening!!
Bawdy....Ya measure sour cream???
Start with a heaping Tbs, and add more if it's not well coated..I usually add about 3, but I'm making a pile of the stuff for leftovers. BTW- thin sliced cabbage, sausage, sour cream..Eastern Europen soul food(or so i've been told)- I just redid it Italian style

Rob, sorry, but you just don't look Italian to me! I always thought of you as Irish or Scot. I'm wrong?

Elaine and Lissette have stepped up to the plate to help me with my hairstyles.

Elaine, go to the site and then sign in (upper left-hand corner) as me (PM me again if you don't have my username and password anymore). Now look for the "Favorites" link. There you'll find 5 or 6 styles I've picked out. I really want to keep it short, as it seems to flatter my features better, and it's less fuss than long hair (my hair is so fine, it just falls flat if it's too long).

THANKS AGAIN!

Where's Orang and everyone else today?

Hi there Bawdy!

I really like #4 for the color,(the blond might wash out your complexion if it is not the right tone!)
That other dark shade was to severe for your coloring.
For haircut styles, I like #3, it was short enough to be manage-able, (especially if your hair is fine and goes flat easy!) (like mine.) but looks like it is not to cropped and flatters your face! if you have fine hair, layers help to keep it from going flat and gives your hair volume! Infact, I REALLY am in need to go get mine done also, my layers are all one length and on a bad day looks like linguini!HA

Well this is just my 2 cents worth! GOOD LUCK!!!!

And Yes WHERE IS ORANG???? WE are going to send Santa yeti out with the mousse to look for you!!!

Elaine, tell us what your opinion is!!!!!

Come on guys, lets help Bawdy out! Ellie,Marnie,Renee, patchlady,Kristine,Wendy,Robin!!!!!!!

LOL Actually, I'm Austrian & Swedish, and most of my cooking influences are Italian & Chinese
then again this part of NJ IS in the NYC area, so you have to be able to swear in AT LEAST 3 different languages just to communicate with your fellow drivers!!
BTW- ever see the Sopranos on HBO?.most of the locations are about 20 minutes south of me.

That mousse left chocolate tracks all over my carpet and the Yeti needs a shave.

The Orang is alive and well -- the hubby is half-dead with the flu -- my exercise for the day - waiting on him hand and foot Good thing I like that guy

My eating has been weird {did I hear Rob say something about that being fitting? } It's LC, but even lover than normal fat for PP??? This isn't normal for me -- I did have a heavier meal last night so I know I got enough calories.

Bawdy - PM me the link and password and I will send suggestions for hairsytles - I understand you want to stay short, but not ultra short. Let me know if that's wrong. I don't know much about styling fine hair -- I have tons of hair with a natural body wave (no curls)

I wish I could have gotten the ladies home journal software to let me merge the images to show you some of the Yeti hairstyles -- he doesn't look bad with the Lisa Renna style either

Elaine - hope it gets warm enough to melt the snow

Bawdy - are you in the area getting 12"+ snow tonight -- Yikes - that would stop everything here for over a week.

Shelley - hope the next system doesn't hit you too hard.

Rob
I used to live north of NYC and work in the city. You had to be able to swear in at least six languages for the subway -- some of the things I saw on the subway

You guys are scaring me with your talk of the big city!

Ya gotta remember that Lissette and I are country girls. Be gentle with us!

That was chocolate on the rug? I thought there was another little problem with my dog/cat accidents.

Orang, I'll send you the username and password by PM. You'll see that I like it short, but not "Halle Barry" short.

Gotta run. We are in for a lot of snow (I don't know about the 12 inches). I brought my laptop home on Friday just in case there's too much snow in the morning. I'll check in again tomorrow. See ya!

For anyone looking at my favorites in the hairstyler site, don't worry too much about the color. My natural color is light brown (slight touch of warm tones) with some highlights. I won't be changing it to blond or anything. I was just futzing (huh?) with the color, and for some reason the grays and blonds stuck. I didn't specifically "save" those colors, but they keep coming up.

The color that's the closest to mine is "Copper" on the darker side.

Thanks again!

I'm hitting the hay (no, Lissette, not that kind). Up at 4:00 tomorrow morning, just in case the road has been cleared.

Talk to you all then!!!

(I love my PP pals!)
