Default Thanks all

Thanks everyone and sorry Ken and Margaret and Jon, I got a bit confused about who was with who in my last post so apologies, I only realised after I pressed submit reply.

It's strange, we can go about our everyday lives not even knowing our neighbours but we can log into a site like this and learn so much from each other it's unbelievable. Society today is very different and perhaps we need to re-evaluate our priorities or has the work colleague replaced that old 'neighbour over the fence'?!

Speak soon,

Bez

Smile U CAN correct mistakes, Bez

Hi
{Bez: I only realised after I pressed submit reply. }

You can correct mistakes Bez. Just hit the EDIT button just above the REPLY POST button on each message. It will take you back into your message.

{we can go about our everyday lives not even knowing our neighbours } Sooo true. I sometimes don't see my neighbours for months .. yet I can come here and talk to the whole world morning noon and night!! Just a little walk to my computer ... it is great. Society is changing.

I started a list when I first went on the Internet. Some of them might not work on this site, some Wa'il has made very easy for us by giving us smilies to click on; there are some specifically for LC :not on my list but hope it will help a little for the time being Bez.

Smile Sunday 18th NOVEMBER 2001 morning or Sat 17th afternoon

Date: Saturday 17th November 2001 (afternoon)
or Sunday 18th Nov - morning

Time: Suggestions please?

Venue: Ditto
There is a nice big MacDonalds in Kilburn, NW6 or Marble Arch, W1 which might be a good place especially if we meet up about 9'ish?? Won't be too busy, hopefully. If we go to Marble Arch we could go for a lovely stroll via Hyde Park afterwards? !
Any other suggestions welcomed.

Default 17th November

Sounds good to me. I won't be tempted to have a burger as I'm not keen on McDs but it would be a different matter if it was a burger king.

Default SUNDAY 18th November

Thanks Ken for noticing that Sunday is the 18th not 17th - didn't do my stair sprints yesterday!!

Jon, anyway you could make it on Saturday? afternoon perhaps - meet up for exercise/chat/fun rather than food! ... As Ken and Margaret can't make it on Sunday.

Did anyone see the survey results (of healthy take-aways) on TV (and radio) yesterday.

According to nutritional experts: Indian take-aways are worst 'cos of the fat content; English take-aways (lassagne etc) next and best of all for lowest fat content (!!) are MacDonalds Burger and chips!

We could leave it open re McD: if we feel hungry after the exercise we can pop into a cafe/restaurant that seems right.

Take care.

Default Saturday afternoon.

Provisionally Saturday afternoon would be fine as long as I get back in time to go to theatre.

Hi all,

Those dates look ok for me and I'll try to come but will need more info.

Bez

P.S. Can I collect anyone on the way or meet up with anyone that lives nearby?...I will probably go by train.

Default Golders Green? 2pm? Sat 17Nov.

Jon will a couple of hours (2-4) give you enough time to get back home for the theatre? My thinking is that if we go to Marble Arch you then need to double back all the way back so a nice place not too far from St Johns Wood would be better with your time schedule. How does Golders Green Underground Station at 2pm on Saturday 17 November sound? Unless you know of some other place.

Golders Hill Park is a (steepish - I get out of breath but enjoy it) 15 min. walk away from the station. The Park will be beautiful with all the Autumn colours at this time of the year. There is a restaurant there in case it is raining. Hampstead Heath is just beautiful - I love it when I am there but don't get there often enough.

Bez we could all meet up at Golders Green or at the Restaurant in the Park. Where would you be coming from?

Kay (a new member) is very keen to join us too.
Take care.

Hi Fiona/Jon,

Saturday 17th, 2.00pm, Golders Green Tube sounds fine for Margaret and I (I hope that is OK with you Jon?). I've pencilled it in my diary.

Hope things are going well for you this week.

Speak soon

Ken

Hi all

That should be fine - my wife has mentioned the small possibility that theatre may be a matinee.... I'll check it out with the in-laws.
