My biggest pet peeve is how the public and the media still perceives this WOE as a no-fruit-or-veggies bacon binge. I'm also peeved with the double standard: everyone insists on getting "long term studies" before they'll ever believe in LCing, yet no such studies were ever done before we all went low fat. It was a giant experiment, and the results were disasterous.

I have stopped telling people that I "can't" eat this or that. The word "can't" implies that I want to but am just not allowed and fosters the response of, "Oh, a little won't kill you." Instead I now say I "don't" eat this or that, with the same emphasis that I would use if asked if I eat rat poison, dog poop or mushrooms, gack!!!

I used to have a healthy friend who simply didn't drink sodas, end of story. Instead of trying to convince him to just have a little, I respected him for having the determination that I lacked to try to be a healthier person.
