Thumbs up

I tried the low carb pizza from Villages a couple of weeks ago. I asked four low carber friends to join me and we all thought it was fantastic. The thin crust is low carb, you choose your own toppings, so they would all have different carb totals.

Tried the LC Pizza from Villages and it was definitely good. The crust is definitely LC as it's kinda chewy . I actually had it twice over the holidays. I can overdo it though so won't be ordering it overly often.

I left Victoria without getting the pizza. I was so concerned about beating the snow that I didn't even think about it until I got to Parksville. Oh well I should have gotten it the day before. Next time I am in Victoria I guess I will go.

The Thrifty's LC bread is good, i like it at least. And it is 3.5g per slice.

Pork Rinds - available a lot of places. I've seen them at Superstore and numerous others.

Software - MasterCook or Now You're Cooking. I have the first. Got it on sale at Future Shop for $11. Seems straight forward to use, and you can put in your own ingredients if they are missing, so you have the information for future reference.

Addition:

With regard to LC Bread - The Market on Yates is making a loaf - $3.59 I believe. My husband likes it better than Bond Bonds (at Lifestyles for $8.00 - way too much, in my opinion). I make Gabi's sometimes, but haven't managed to get it to raise quite as much as the Market's.

Villages Pizza - shared it the other day with three others who do not eat LC. The consensus was that it was good. Crust not overpowering (as some crusts can be doughy and that's all you deal with).

When I saw the LC Bread at Thriftys it was with the regular bread. That was a couple of weeks ago. I looked again yesterday and didn't see any. I don't know if that was because they ran out or stopped ordering it. It may not have sold well if people didn't know they had it and/or couldn't find it. At any rate it's turning up at a lot of place now so it shouldn't be a problem. For the record I still like the LYNDIES organic low carb bread best by far. I found it at Planet Organic in Saanich Centre.
I you haven't tried the La Tortilla Factory Wraps then do so. They're at the Market On Yates.
Happy New Years!

At the Campbell River Thifty's they make their own bread and it usually found next to the deli meat or with their baked bread near the cheese and vegetables....Not the regular bread section. My husband even tried it (he is picky with things like this) and he thought it tasted pretty good.

Default Safeway & Low Carb Bread

Safeway in Courtenay is now carrying a low carb bread by Weston - 5 carbs per slice and price is about $3.50.

Safeway has yet another low carb bread at $2.99 a loaf. It is carb correct. The loaf is 454 g. so a normal size loaf. and 5 net carbs per slice. On the side of the package the company states it also makes Buns, pastries, pizza shells and bagles. So we will see if safeway stocks that as well. In less than a couple of months, my bread costs have gone down almost 50%. That sure does help the grocery bill since my daughter eats low carb when she is at home.
