Thortons diabetic vanilla fudge bar is totally worth any discomfort. I ate one, had no problems next time i might try 2 Nope only joking one in a blue moon is my treat.

Default Thats what it gave me!

Thorntons choccies don't make me feel ill. They just throw the stomach. When i was first diagnosed everybody bought the stuff for me and in the end I said "no more!!"

There is a shop in Bakewell taht sells adorable sugar free choccies. They don't play you up and do a mail order service. I will dig their details out tommorrow at some point.

Off now to dream of Jaffa cakes.

Thanks Pepsi Max and Ebbie B. And where is that Lynda. I get no sympaphy and then thats that.

While on no shows I am still looking for some essex jokes from Kelly. If I don't get some I will have to tell you my horrible sexist joke that a rep told me yesterday.

Bye for now

Tony

Default Marzipane for Tony

Hi Tony

Not tried this yet from my ever growing archive of low carb recipes but maybe it would work for you: for nostalgia add the yellow colouring perhaps? My memory of the almond paste on Battenberg is such that you might also want to add a bit of almond essence too.

1 egg white
100g (or so) ground almonds
Few drops almond essence
1-2 tsp of artificial sweetener (or according to taste)
Mix everything up in a bowl until it's the approximate consistency of marzipan, and serve!

I wondered if melting a little chocolate (does diabetic chocolate melt like ordinary dark chocolate - never tried so don't know) and dipping bits of this in (cocktail stick with bits on?) and letting them set would work?

SL
