Default Re: Hashimoto's?

Rosemerry, there is an actual blood test that can be done to see if you have the Hashimoto's (anti-thyroid) antibodies or not.

Also, here is the link to the New England Journal of Medicine article = "http://content.nejm.org/cgi/content/short/340/6/424"

There is a layperson's interpretation of this study at "http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/t3drugsnejm.htm", so you know what you're talking about in the office.

Despite this study, conventional wisdom is to keep us on t4 only

Bringing this up has made me decide to try out a t3 friendly dr !

Hi, I am a newbie a well and too have hypothyriod. I have been on .2mg (Very high dose) of Levoxyl for over 10 years. I'm 43 and fairly tall, but I have a lot of weigh to lose (30 lbs). I also take an antidrepressant before bed each night. I started SP a week and a half ago and I'm down 7 lbs. so far. I love this way of eating and it has definitly STOPPED my sugar cravings and all the other food cravings so far! It's really amazing, BUT I'm actually waiting for the other shoe to drop, as they say! Almost to good to be true! I really feel great!!! Amazing energy!!! BUT, and here's the thing! Is anyone else out there with hypo having sleeping troubles??? I have only had 1 night of very good sleep since I started the SP and I am a person who sleeps in a coma every night. I am eager to find out from other hypo's if it's happening to them as well. I would love some feedback. Thanks for listening!!
