Talking No, Loki! I'm Not Just Going to Sit on the Couch!

I finally got off my butt!

I have high hopes of exercising every morning on weekdays. 30 min video. It's time to take time for me. Fit mommy is happy mommy and happy mommy is better mommy. So get out from under my feet!

This morning, before my LC-friendly breakfast I did a video with a dumb name but it was slightly harder than beginner.

Walk and Kick, from Leslie Sansone. A hybrid of walk-in-your-living-room and easy kickboxing. I brought in 2-pound weights. Though it was harder than I expected and had to put them down halfway through.

I did it though. Day one is a win.

Good for you! Leslie Sansone tapes are great for beginning exercisers. Did you imagine Loki's face beneath your feet?

Yes. Yes I did. He didn't look too pleased either. Kind of like he did after Hulk slung him around a bit.

Day Two!

So I did a 30 minute yoga routine with Denise Austin. It's on YouTube thankfully as my copy will no longer play.

Denise Austin Metabolism Booster Yoga Sweat-Fest

Ok, so that isn't the real name, but that's what I'm feeling today.

Whew! It was a lot harder than I remembered. I used to do this thing 3 times a week. And her voice is annoying, but I'm sure feeling the workout all over now that I'm done. And the rivers of sweat blinding me as I passed the midpoint? Next time I'll have a towel handy.

She meshes Sun Salutations alternated with pose series (warrior, chair, balancing stick and tree) that incorporate some slight, mildly aerobic additions that test your balance, raise your heartrate, and work your muscles. Hard workout for me, and I can't do the full poses, yet. But I will, and I do feel limber and well afterward, which was the idea. Def burned calories.

Workin' it!

Monday:
W&K again. With the weights. Knees aren't happy, but they can stuff it. Too bad.

Tues:
No time. The kids had a thing.

Wed:
W&K plus weights. Honestly I think I'm sticking with this until my muscles find this boring before I try that yoga one again. So sad how pathetic my fitness level is right now.

Btw, knees still hurt. Don't care, Loki. Not listening.

Thursday:
W&K with 2lb. Hand weights. Knees seem less pissed today.
I played basketball from kindergarten until I graduated from high school. Brutal on the knees. So now, with weight on them, they get gripey.

Debating on doing a short workout tomorrow. We are going on a last-min camping trip tomorrow night, and the kids will be walking/playing me a half-marathon worth later in the day and all weekend. Don't want to overdo it.

Today be Wednesday:

Felt achy and like total crap this morning. I wanted to kill something. Told Loki to SHUT UP. Did W&K anyway, feel less achy and now I'm Miss Sunshine.

I hear ya! I usually feel bad during my period, which will be next week.

What's W&K? Exercise is so awesome in that it has that ability to make the aches go away and give us such good feelings. Yay!

A Leslie Sansone, a little harder than beginner, walk/kickbox hybrid. It's called Walk and Kick. Stupid name, but I add 2lb weights and it's challenging.

Gotcha! Oh hey--I used 1lb walking weights this morning and it made such a big difference!

That was supposed to be Sansone... autocorrect is really fighting me. It thinks Swanson is better.

Oki dokie.

Thurs(8,000 steps) and Friday (10,600 steps) I biked and walked a lot. Sat was not so active as I couldn't get anyone to do anything but I did get at least 8,000 steps in running everybody here and there through the campground.

Monday: W&K with 2lb weights. Hoping to nudge the feminine water weight to go the heck away! Get thee gone!
