Default low-carb margarita

Saw alot of people wishing for margaritas now that the weather is here and decided to post this recipe:

1.5 oz Tequila
6 oz Crystal Light lemonade
1/2 small lime
1 lemon wedge
kosher salt
Shaker cup (or an empty wide mouth water bottle w/lid to use as a shaker)

Mix Tequila and crystal light in a shaker glass. Squeeze lemon wedge into mix. Squeeze 1/2 lime into mix and then put entire half lime into shaker as well. Shake vigorously (important...just not the same if it's not shaken)
Pour kosher salt into a dish. Take glass of choice and run the lemon wedge around the rim...quickly dip glass rim into salt. Add Ice to glass. Pour margarita mix. Enjoy!!!

Carb estimate is between 2 & 4 depending on quantity of juice from lemon and lime. You can Estimate that 1 0z of lemon/lime juice = 2.5 carbs

You can also soak an orange tea bag in the crystal light overnight to add an orangy flavor...since this recipe is missing the triple sec...but I find I really dont need to. Happy summer!

That sounds good. I finally broke down and ordered Baja Bob drink mix a couple of weeks ago. My Spin instructor shared an idea for margarita's too. I have not tried it yet and it sounds a little unpalatable, but what do I know until I try it. He suggested using diet Mt. Dew with tequila and triple sec for a low carb margarita... Of course this would be for folks who are not bothered by caffine as I think that Mt. Dew has one of the highest caffine contents.

Had a lc margaita last night at Don Pablos. It was O.K. I'm sure I could make a better one though. That recipe sounds good.
Also for the price they charge, $6.99, I could probably make a bucket full!

Just a note...but margs if made with fresh lime are quite good without the triple sec which is a flavored liquor and therefore...the enemy. (LOL) Recommend trying them without.

Order the Baja Bob's. I used it last summer and even my non- LCing friends couldn't tell the difference

Use the liquid crystal light lemonade...it's sweetened with splenda.
