Default Chicken question

Lately I have noticed that whenever I eat cooked, skinless chicken breast I become queasy about 20 minutes later. Thighs don't seem to do that. Any idea why that would work? The obvious difference is the fat content, but I don't understand why lower fat would result in nausea.

When I cook either, I only use a little sea salt and olive.

No idea! I'd think "meat is meat". The only difference is things like hemoglobin in the thighs that aren't in the breast and stuff like that.

My husband has this problem and so do I. Only speculation so far, on our parts, as to why it happens. Chicken must be very well-cooked for us.

DH and I get this way with chicken breast sometimes...seems to only happen when it is a certain texture that I can't describe very well...like almost a little wet but not moist and a little rubbery maybe?

Hmm, Funny I have noticed the same thing as well, but only if I salt it. Unsalted seems to have no affect on me.

I had dinner at my Mum's Saturday and she served skinless chicken breast (she does the lowfat thing) with some veggies, salad etc. Later on my tum started to hurt, and the next morning I had a, ummm, reaction. My tum/guts were iffy til this evening. I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary at all. May not have been the chicken breast but interesting that other ppl find nausea etc from it. I've never liked breast meat.

Plain skinless chicken breasts sometimes make my stomach feel weird too, sort of like they are sucking moisture out of my gut. The same thing happens with plain hard-boiled eggs. Adding fat (mayo, olive oil, ghee) helps me avoid the problem.

There seems to be a pattern here. I'm surprised. I'll try the no salt approach and the added fat approach and see if I notice a difference. I was starting to think that I had developed yet another food allergy/intolerance. That list is getting way, too long!!

I just want to add that this happens to us with free pastured fresh slaughtered chickens, too, so we don't think it has to do with the additives in commercial chickens.
