Question Sugar Snap peas and Mangetout

I have some sugar snap peas and can not find them on Fitday.com. Is there another name for them in the US? Also for mangetout.

Both of these are immature peas in which you eat the pods as well as the baby peas. I know that mangetout have around 4 carbs per 100g/3.5 oz.

hi Anne,

I fired "edible" into the search box at fitday, and came up with several results for "Peas, edible-podded, frozen, unprepared" or cooked etc ... There was no entry for raw.

1/3 of a 10 oz pkg (frozen) would be close to 3.5 oz or 100g ... and has 6.95g total carbs and 2.99g fiber.

hth,

Doreen

Thanks Doreen

Today I decided to surf one of the UK supermarkets and came up with the following for Sugarsnap peas.

Per 100 g
3.5 Kcal
3.4 protein
5.0 carbs
0.2 fat
1.5 fibre

So that makes 6.5 US carbs and therefore pretty similar to what you found.

I'm going to put this and the mange tout in as my own entries on Fitday.
