Very inspirational story Kristine. The before/after picture is fabulous! I hope you are very proud of your success because you definitely deserve it.
I am curious when you stopped the Depo in relation to starting LC.
Great work!!

Hi all! Thanks a lot!
OG, my last shot was in April of 2001. A lot of women get nasty symptoms with the depo, but I got them shortly after the next shot would have been due, once I quit. It hit me like a brick wall. I started low carbing in March of 2002. It may seem coincidental - perhaps it was the depo wearing off, not low carbing - but I disagree. Like I mentioned, I've fallen off the wagon more than once, and had it all come back. The drug is long gone from my system. I do believe it's permanant. I wouldn't be the first woman to come out of depo with PCOS.

What a GREAT, and well written success story!! By the look of your "after" pic, you seem at goal, (an ideal) weight already!

Hee hee - thanks, ladies. Edie, confession time: that picture is old, from when I was on my way up. I don't have any recent ones. I was definitely under 130. That would be my ultimate goal again, but like I said, I'm too lazy to bother.

Hi Kristine,
I just posted you to you and then promptly lost it. Darn! I wanted to thank you for your comments in my gallery, and to say that I enjoyed reading about your success story.
I think sometimes it's easy for those of us with more weight to lose to look at the stats of those people who've only had to lose 20 or 30 pounds and dismiss their struggle as a very minor one - but you've shown me how important low carbing can be even for someone without much to lose, and how much these things can affect your life.
I'm so glad for you that you've managed to cure your health problems. I had chronic fatigue badly for about a year, and less severely for a couple more, so I know how debilitating illness is firsthand.
Congratulations!
Deborah

What a great story!!
It is so awesome to read stories like yours. It is amazing how much junk food and medications can totally put our bodies out of whack. Your pictures are fantastic. Congrats!!!
