New lifestyle habits are very hard to learn. I know this because I was in exactly the same boat as you last year. The last few pounds are going to astoundingly difficult to lose no matter which weight loss plan you choose. Even Dr. A said to switch things up (even going to lowfat for a brief change and then switching back) to rev up your metabolism. I did this once, and tried Weight Watcher's for a few months. I did get to 132 but man was I hungry and miserable as hell!!! I can relate to how you feel totally (though WW is a more severe change than SB by far!) I was desperate to get this weight thing under control and was willing to employ several methods to succeed. Also, I knew the change of life was approaching and that my time was running out in that it was only going to get harder.
I can't say I had such difficulty on Phase 1 with bloating because I quickly figured out which foods were doing this and cut them out. I then made it more like Atkin's but just heavier on the greens, veges, and lighter with the overall portions, lighter on the protein, and not quite as much fat. Beans and yogurt both have the potential to bloat me so I just chose something else.
Hopefully, you don't have some underlying medical issues (thyroid, celieacs, food sensitivities) like I did but I think you should consider that you may. I give credit to Atkin's for helping me to discover my underlying health problems. I followed it to the absolute letter (ask Citruskiss!) and lost not an ounce but this revealed that I was actually hypothyroid and had other underlying endocrine problems (losing too much sodium....crazy complex stuff!)
All this being said, I'd love to see your Fitday if you kept it for a week and I'd love to know if you counted calories at all on SB. Either way, I really do wish you luck and want you to know I DO know how you feel. You have made such progress already at 76%. If another year passes, and you still don't make it, then please consider tests to rule out hypothyroid/food allergies/etc.
