Default Just started today

Hi everyone, I just started Atkins today. I had only been about 20 pounds overweight and was fine there and stable for a long time, but my weight started creeping up lately and now I need to lose 45 pounds.

I think low carb is the only way for me to realistically stick to a diet at this point - I enjoy sugar too much! I love the loss of appetite on low carb, but at least until I get into ketosis there's so much to choose from. What a great diet!

Anyway, it's nice to know there are others out there doing the same. Nice to meet you!

Welcome! Lots of good advice here, including years of old discussions on almost any subject you can imagine. When I’m struggling with myself, I like to come on and look up old threads for a sense of support and to learn.

The regular search function is disabled. To search, click the search button on the green bar above and use “advanced”...
Enjoy your meals!

Default Sounds like me

Lumos,
I too was 20 lbs overweight for years, but in the last 4 years I am now 45 lbs over weight. UGH. Lots of life changes, but now it's time to get it off. I love a few glasses of wine each night but that ramps up my appetite. I have not had any wine in 6 days and following low carb and lost 3 lbs - so I'm happy with that
Welcome

Starting here. Starting now. I wish you good health.

I started LC eating in 1972. It's a neverending battle, but necessary for those of us with damaged............................whatever. Maybe it's the metabolism, maybe something else.

This is a good place to learn, get information, share, learn some more and hold ourselves accountable for our health and well being.

Welcome.

Thanks everyone! My first was fantastic yesterday, but today I had a sad mistake. I wanted to buy diet ginger ale and I saw next to the diet regular ginger ale was what I THOUGHT was diet raspberry ginger ale. A few gulps in, I realized this tasted waaaaay too good to be diet – and I was right, it was not diet. So today was a good day except for some non-diet soda.
