River, head over to a GNC store. They have loads (ok maybe not loads...) of high protein, low carb shakes and other stuff. That soy tastes awfull! I've found that the staff are really helpful.

Hi all
Another NBer here. Just started LCing again this week. I was on it before and I fell off the wagon, got hooked up in the riggin and drug up another 30 lbs before I could get back on the wagon again! I think I thought LCing wasn't good for you (listened to too much media) but I felt great on it, was never hungry. I starved to death on WW before. Never again. A lightbulb has finally gone off in my head and now I am committed to this WOL.

I'm located about 1/2 way between Saint John and Gagetown. It's nice to know I'm not alone out here...

Default lets get this party started. maritimer here ! bedford ns

I am soooooo hoping to talk to locals. Let's keep this post going. I live in Bedford and am curious to talk to locals into low carbing, exercise and what works for you. You can email me anytime. I will always email back. I am 29 recently newly married . I am really looking to make these next few months very focused and dedicated on getting my body and mind in the best place. My husband and i want to start a family soon and I want to be in the best shape physically and mentally and I know when I look good , I feel good and it will just snowball from there. so what have you done to get to your goal? I am honestly thinking of stopping the packaged low carb foods. I think I"m going to make things as simple as possible. Like buying fresh salmon and a rotisserie chicken every day (every 2 days maybe) and stocking up on pre made salads. or eating an atkins salad from subway for lunch every day. they are delicious (can we eat them on induction?) . I had one today. although they are $8!! they are soooooooo good and filling. drink lots of water and take supplements. do any of you take atkins supps?

Just what I was looking for!
To see other Maritimers or Atlantic Canadians!!! Wohoo!

I too grew up in Moncton but now I reside in Saint John!

I gained most of my weight after a bad breakup being unhappy with myself...but.. that was a long time ago and now the weight is going!

I try and stay away from the fast food places in this city, but I do not think they have much in the way of unique dining or even into the "shopping experience for anthing that is out of the usual request.
Most places here have more natural or holistic food stuffs than lo-carb!
So I guess one needs to scrounge near and far in old Saint John!

Has anyone found a low carb soda with splenda in it?

Hi,
I'm a former Monctonian too...

I'm not sure but I think diet orange crush has splenda.

I like to mix up cool aide with splenda. The boxes of splenda has filler so that it measures like sugar for baking and the packets are a bit more concentrated and better for cool-aide.

That being said, If you can go to a bulk barn, they have bottles of stevia. The bottles are pricy but 1 teaspoon gives all the sweetness of 1 cup of sugar. It's amazing really.

I'm kind of a diet pop addict and Superstore just unveiled an aspertame sweetened apple pop that I like. Sigh, one a day I guess...

Hey all you 'timers

I live in Quispamsis (15 miles from Saint John) we like to think we're out of the fog belt but when it's really thick we get it too.

I work in the city though, the commute is about 20 minutes either way which isn't so bad.

Hugs and best wishes to all the Maritimers on this WOE, keep on fighting the good fight eh!
