Default Low fat or high fat on CAD?

What works for you? The Hellers say that you should be eating low fat, but I find that I am less hungry during the day when I add oil to my food during cooking. I also switched from my regular salad dressing to vinegar and oil. I can't believe the difference it has made. I actully say full! That is a miracle.I was just curious what works for everyone else?

Hi-
I don't remember the Hellers saying to eat low fat- I don't. I avoid any 'low-fat' products as they are filled with HFCS and other junk. I use olive oil and butter, and eat lots of red meat, eggs and such. I don't eat lots of cheese, but the cheese I do eat is all really good regular (not low fat) stuff. I don't load my vegies or food up with oil or butter, as I don't eat high fat either. For me it is just 'normal'.

They talk about it in The Carbohydrate Addict's Diet book. It is the first one. Anyway it is on page 111 down at the bottom where they are talking about Complementary Meal Foods. "Complementary Snacks contain the same high-fiber,low-fat,low carbohydrate foods but are about half the quanity." But heck that doesn't leave very much variety,ya know. I guess it depends on what works for the individaul.

Hi-
I went back to CALP and there is no mention of low-fat in the edition I have, the 1998 Plume first-edition hardback. In the section on the actual plan, or in the 'options' section, low-fat is not mentioned. Not even in the index! I have never done CAD (read the book after CALP and CAHHP) so I am not as up on that plan. On the 'official' CA list, they do talk about CALP as being newer/better than CAD, but some people really don't want a salad and don't like to balance their RMs so stick with CAD.
There is some discussion in the CAHHP book, but it is not recommended for everyone.
