Yes, I whip the cream and add in the hot gelatin + flavor + sweetener mixture.
It is really fast to make, I usually make 3-4 cakes and jello so that I can always have something sweet and quick to eat on hand. It takes me about 2 weeks to get through them. And the dishes go in the dishwasher. If you don't have a dishwasher make sure you wash the dishes right away as the gelatin is hard to get off after it hardens.

Here is a great cheesecake that does not require gelatin. It's really good. I've made it several times and added a nut crust (described later in this thread):

Bawdy's Cheesecake

Enjoy!

Default Harosset - any ideas?

Still looking for ideas for l/c Harroset? Anyone?

The traditional ingredients are sweet wine, dates, apples, walnuts, Cinnamon...

I tried replacing the apples with apple diet syrup, the wine with dry wine, cinnimon and walnuts are Okay but what do I do about the dates and the texture?

Help!

There are some recipes out there for mock apple pie that use zucchini (courgette). When cooked, they very much resemble apple. Use the apple syrup, leave out the dates, use the walnut and cinnamon.

Mock Apple Cobbler

Or you could go ahead and just treat this as a feast day. Make the harroset as you have in the past. Have a small portion. Passover only happens once a year...

Hooray! Finally L/C Harroset! It worked!!!!!
Here is what I did:
1. Bought and pealed a ton of squash, there was no need to cut the seeds out, they were too small. Cut to small pieces.
2. Squeezed a whole freshly picked lemon into the pot.
3. Cooked until soft. Added wine, cinnamon, tziporen, sweetener and continued cooking for a few more minuets.
4. Removed from flame and "nuked" it.
5. Added chopped walnuts and apple flavor diet tarkiz.
(added more wine and cinnamon to taste)

Wow! I can't believe it, it is Harroset!

I had my father try it and he said that it tasted great. I told him that the carbs are only from the nuts and the wine and a bit from the "secrete ingredient". Then I broke down and told him it was squash. He'd have never guessed!

Thank You very much! I have been experimenting unsuccessfully for 5 years!

I have been looking for years for a no sugar added chocolate bar, like the ones mentioned used for cooking. Do you know of a brand and where I can buy one?

I started to use coconut oil to make chocolate bars - I melt the oil, add coco powder and sugar substitute.

Yes, the bars with sugar alcohol added. I have eaten them before and found that they caused weight gain and terrible gas. I thought there might be a bar such as one used for cooking. I have yet to find one sugarless.

I have yet to find a sugar-free chocolate bar that I like. But for making brownies, use this formula:

3 Tablespoons of cocoa + 1 Tablespoon shortening or oil =
1 ounce unsweetened baking chocolate.

This is the formula that is on the back of the Hershey's Cocoa container. It works great. Do this with any good quality cocoa powder.

Okay, sounds good!
Where do I get unsweetened baking chocolate?

Lately I've been melting coconut oil and adding cocoa and sweetener and letting it harden again.
