I felt like this through my first two pregnancies, but then for my third I had a midwife who was adamant about following a great diet as much as possible. She extolled the virtues of the Brewer diet, which indeed is low carb and stresses adequate protein. I followed the diet throughout pregnancy #3 and felt the best out of my three pregnancies - it was wonderful.

And each of the three times it has been TORTURE losing the weight for me, just awful. I'm very insulin resistant and it's horrible for me. I really do envy those who enjoy all kinds of dietary indiscretions during pregnancy and are able to drop weight so easily, argh!
