Talking Well trained doctor!

I ended up with a new doctor in January. I liked her, but after lab work was done, she did something that concerned me. Since my LDL was high (tho trig was low & hdl was good), she prescribed a statin and had the VA send me a bottle.

I ignored her advice, but was concerned how she would handle my non-compliance - this is VA, after all!

To my great surprise, she didn't even mention it - even tho my latest lab work showed my LDL as a little higher than January. When I gave her back the bottle of statins, she just said thank you, I'll dispose of it. With a smile!

Now I really like my new doctor!

Not at all!

Total cholesterol - 326
LDL - 223
Trig - 77
HDL c - 77 (my Jan. # was flagged as high - 97)
CHL/HDL - 4 (anyone know what this is?)

I feel my diabetes & weight come first, I'll worry about cholesterol if I actually have a heart problem. Besides, my cholesterol started going up with my diabetes. I'm wondering if they will go down together.

CHL/HDL is the ratio of the total cholesterol to HDL.
326/77 = 4.23
