Default Carbquick?

I just realized Carbquick is not allowed even in OWL. I figured I would be adding small amounts into my diet as part of the 5g per week increases. It's ridiculously low in carbs. Yes, it's made from wheat flour but doesn't the extreme low carb count negate that? I have three huge boxes in my pantry. I'm kind of disappointed to say the least.

ETA: I just checked the Atkins site and apparently their bake mix is allowed in P2. Why is Carbquick considered a grain but their bake mix isn't!

My advice: stay away from faux foods, especially one like CarbQuick.

I don't know the ingredients of the Atkins mix, but it's another faux food that used to be made with soy flour. Soy is a legume. I'd compare the ingredients of both to see which rungs they properly belong to.

If you are doing Atkins "by the book" then wheat containg products are on the last rung. That's because grains are the most problematical of any food.

Because Atkins Bake mix is HEAVY on the soy.

And....because it's their corporation

Take it for what it's worth...

Carbquick and "flourish" goods was what derailed me the last time I attempted this. And I mean DERAIL. Trying to have the things like biscuits, biscotti, cookies, etc. I know it's something that you probably don't want to hear, but I would stay away from the Carbquick, WPIs, etc with a 10 foot pole. JMO

Progress not perfection.

Modern wheat has many types of glutens that were never clinically tested for their effects. Turns out that their effects are abdominal obesity, celiac-like symptoms, joint inflammation, and other unlovely symptoms.
Read Wheat Belly for the details.

Unfermented soy should be eaten sparingly, and only by women, according to the Hormone Diva.
