Default +8lbs in 4 days :( Help

I put this in my journal but i'm gutted and want some advice as to where i go from here. Thanks

OK I caved - DH weighs himself today and he left them out swo i hopped on and . . . .

8lbs UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF

To say I've been grumpy about this today is an understatement. Also my Ketone sticks are negative today. Not fair ..... but i've not been 'perfect' in the last 24 hours but i've not been hugely bad either - 3 malteasers, 2 truffles chocs but the only reason i had these was because i felt faint and i was trying to up my sugar.

I'm 3 days into the 30 day shred but surely all this couldn't account for 8lbs + in 4 days . . . . .

Are you anywhere near that 'time of the month'? Many members experience an otherwise unexplained rise in their weight either before, during or after it.
The 'extra' pounds usually go away in a few days (sometimes with a few friends).

No I don't get them as i have an IUD. I've just plugged everything i've had today in fitday (I obviously can't be trusted to just keep tabs on myself) and i've hit 46g of carbs already today.... i'd thought i was at about 15g .... i need to track!

I'm drinking loads of water to try and flush out the worse and i think milk is the biggest culprit - the odd tea or coffee out etc etc adds up fast!

Ummmmm...FY....just because you have an IUD and may not be having a monthly period, if you still have your ovaries then your ovaries are still producing hormones. An IUD hormonal/non-hormonal does not impact the function of your ovaries.

It sounds like perhaps you need to...

A) choose a written plan and follow it until you have mastered the basics

B) seriously begin tracking your food. It adds up.

C)....and take a breath and breathe

Progress not perfection.

a) DANDR arrives any day now
b) Will do - got too cocky too early i think
c) Easier said than done

Thanks x

I agree with the others. Read a book.. track track TRACK your food. And to me.. a cheat is a cheat is a cheat..

Yup - lesson learned - I should say that they were eaten one at a time over 24 hours when i felt faint but I suppose i'm giving my body the message that if i feel faint i'll give in and eat carbs ...... No More Cheating (and calling it something else)

Ketone sticks are showing positive again - so they we're only negative for 4 hours - a real eye opener of how easy my body would drop out of ketosis.

Hey Wildeone, don't lose faith !

I got a small kitchen scale and weigh everything and record it. its a pain in the rear sometimes but one of my big issues is portion sizes.

If you feel faint, if you have a blood glucose meter (standard equipment for us diabetics) you should see what your sugar is before endulging in carbs and from my experience while sweets might bring a quick up, you'll crash. Before I was diagnosed diabetic I found that a cube of cheese or few ounces of lunch meat worked better than chocolate for those faint moments.

Speaking of lunch meat - watch your salt intake as you could be holding onto water if its high or if you are not drinking enough water (and soda and tea don't count as water )

A big ol' whoosh may be right around the corner for you!

Cheers
Minerva

Another good lc snack for those moments is cream cheese with celery - or any dip-able veggie for that matter - or pork rinds, a hand full of olives, etc.

Don't sweat your Ketostix showing negative. Like you stated you're drinking lots of water, your urine may be too dilute to show.
