Default What do you like best about being Keto-adapted?

What are your favorite things about this WOE?
Here are a few of the many benefits I have experienced:

My brain running on ketones is happier and more efficient. I have more clarity, mental energy, and I am better at problem-solving, and at seeing options. Less likely to be depressed, anxious or “stuck.”

My blood sugar is stable, so I am not as subject to hypoglycemic swings and cravings. My energy is steady during the day, and I sleep better at night, usually without waking until my normal time to get going.

Less inflammation, significantly less joint pain.

Feeling healthier overall. I believe my immune system is stronger. Seldom feel under the weather, and when I do, it doesn’t last long.

I am able to eat bacon and butter and cheese with joy, and not a shred of guilt!

Those are delightful results!!!!

My brain clicks along much faster. Making my speech better, too.

My body is envigored with energy, unlike days when dragging myself off the couch is almost too much effort.

Oddly I stay low enough on carb counts thru out the year to prevent my wrist from aching; when the injury was new, inlammation due to off plan eating was a tell. These days its my back that is the tell.

Life is much better when eating is on plan.

I sleep better, my skin is smoother/softer, and I don't have energy crashes mid-day or in the middle of a workout. That last one is nice when you play team sports and your teammates are counting on you to compete!

Default Feel stronger!

Hi,
I feel stronger, but one of the things I really noticed is my memory is like a steel trap now (over 50) and I was getting forgetful. My boss asks me a question at work and I can just access the old file cabinet so easy now. I impress myself even! Its the short term memory that goes. Older folks have good long term memory but the short term is what we need to function. The other main thing I love is no hunger. I also haven't been sick at all since going off all grains, and going low carb/keto. I usually pick up a cold from someone if they are in my office area being sick. This time nope! I also sleep better. Don't wake up every hour anymore. Its amazing how the low carb diet is so healthy! Food is delicious, filling and satisfying! I don't desire McDonalds which never satisfied me anyway..but If I need to eat fast in a pinch, I can get a 1/4 lb burger and take off the bun.

The better brain is my favorite. But sleep might be a close second.

I enjoy all of the benefits described above, but also love the fact that I am not hungry, craving and thinking about what I can or cannot eat during most of my waking hours. Having a "normal" relationship with ketofood leaves me with lots of extra time to enjoy life.
