Default I wish...

Someone would invent a pill or chewable that would expand in your stomach for when you’re so hungry your tummy hurts. Sometimes I just don’t want to eat but I need to quiet the monster.

I wonder why they don't invent something like that?

I think there is: something called bacon or beef jerky!

Note: oftentimes 'hunger' is just thirst. Try sparkling mineral water like Topo Chico, or "smart Water" from Walgreen's, even plain water with a little apple cider vinegar added. Or a 'gummy bear' vitamin and black coffee. These are what I swear by when fasting.

I do love a coffee in the early afternoon. With a splash of HWC and the dreaded aspartame...just a little. And in summer, we ice it. Heaven. And it does quiet the hungermonster...for a while.

A glass of cold water works too.

If still hungry an hour later----bacon, fried beef fat, cream cheese.

One thing I forgot ... green Spanish olives stuffed with pimento. Like pickles I think it's the flavor and salt that does it. Like the cider vinegar in water effect?

Lower carb than black olives too.

The original post reminds me of the old over-the-counter appetite suppressant, Ayds, which came in candy form. It met its demise when AIDS surfaced in the world. The ads and slogans were like "Want to lose weight? Get Ayds!" Doomed. It was an awful product anyway. Its active ingredient was benzocaine if I recall correctly. Blech. Vile.

That said, I find olives, boiled eggs, sardines, avocado, cream cheese, or a small handful of nuts very satiating.

It's a pain I agree to have to track everything.
Don't you wish we were just born to be skinny, that would be so great!! I don't think it's that any of us gorge it's just that our bodies are very efficient at storing it for future famine. Back in the stone age, we would have been the ones to survive!

Barb-
That is quite an unfortunate coincidence.

Little Me- if you are so hungry, your stomach hurts, it means you need food. I would recommend keeping something in the fridge at all times just for this reason- something that you like but wouldn't eat huge amounts of or eat just to nibble while watching tv or whatever. Dieticians usually suggest a bowl of apples. For lowcarbers, I suggest hard boiled eggs.
