good luck.

I got ketostix at CVS, they have their own brand. If you can't find them, ask the pharmacist (they used to be kept behind the pharmacy counter, but at CVS I found them on the shelf.) About $10 for 100 of them, I think, something like that.

thanks fellas but it is impossible for me to find those stix in Turkey and i doubt any doctor have any clue about what keto diet is.
doctors here only suggest cut white bread, butter!!!! switch to wholewheat brad
don't eat dark meat, eat chicken breast, pasta don't eat eggss etc.

There was a woman Professor! who was actively promoting lowcarb diet to Turkish people on tv's.. She was banned by goverment last month for misdirecting people on diets!

it is almost impossible for me to find any fast food keto friendly yet alone stix, prepared sauces, deserts etc.

this is avarage joe's diet in Turkey.
almost half of the population is diabetes, men and women die from heart attack next to cancer.even most of the doctors are overweight etc

I was thinking to myself that, aside from the sugar cubes, the photos didn't look as bad as American doughnuts & pastries. And then I googled "Turkish sweets" and found images of huge piles of sweet stuff in markets. At least your meat photos look great.

lol
you see that second picture dognut look a like thing, one of them contains almost 100gr modified margarine! (which is something like hydrogine oil hardened by sugar!)
margarine is butter compared to this fat.
dognut looks like an angel compared to it
and we eat them for breakfast.

and the deserts,
is all about extreme sugar
one portion of baklava probably contains 50 cubes of sugar. if someone who is on a lc diet for years eats 6 pieces of baklava would probably go on a sugar coma

and average Turk drinks 10-15 glass black tea everyday with 2 cube sugars for each = 30!

let me be more clear. i could eat 7-8 pieces after lunch or dinner.

Oh my gosh!!!! I didn't realize you lived in Turkey and that's why you couldn't buy ketostix, but surely With all those sweets a billion ppl have diabetes if that's what everyone is eating everyday, and ketostix ARE diabetic testing strips, I'm surprised you can't find them in your pharmacy. The first email I opened this morning is this one.... thanks for the visual and now I want to go eat 17 donuts. I won't but I want to. Thanks again!

That looks yummy!!! Maybe they call the sticks something else there. I get them from a grocery store here, or any drug store. Just ask a pharmacist for the sticks to check ketones for diabetics.

Although there is alot of back and forth on whether to use them or not. I don't constantly, but I do use them every couple of days..... you can order fron Amazon....

Or you can get one that measure your blood ketones...The link below says why you shouldn't worry about using the sticks....

yes there are tons of strips even on online stores but they don't mention any ketone, just blood sugar measurement.

is this the one?

http://www.hepsiburada.com/liste/ba...goryId=26012221

maybe i ll order one. asked my pharmacy and she doesn't know anything about ketone strips either
had a blood sugar test though from blood, last time as i wrote here was 103, today it was 99!!!! i am so happy and hunger is all gone. i am pretty sure i am on ketosis i ve no insulin spikes no hunger after switching to high fat. high protein low carb was not my type of diet.
Just ate 4 pieces of chicken wings fried with lots of butter and feels like i ate whole world. old me could eat 20 pieces in 10 mins

Ha! You know I didn't eat 17 donuts! I'd be in some sort of sugar coma, actually down 4 pounds in the last 7 days, bringing me out of a bit of a funk! this diet just sheds the weight when it wants to!!!! Congrats on your losees and continued success!

Not only is the switch possible, it's preferable. Your current diet looks... well, I wouldn't recommend that to my worst enemy.
