Default Question about my weight lifting plans

Right now I'm doing OWL and have taken up a running regimen. It's from www.CoolRunning.com and is basically a 6-week program to get in shape for a 5K run. I'm on week 3. What I plan on doing is waiting until I get down to 155 and then start weight lifting. I figure the small gain that comes from water retention will push me up to my goal weight, 160. What do you think of this idea? Also, right now I'm traveling a ton, so I can't really do a consistent weight lifting program as there'd be 2 weeks with no lifting at all. I'll be in one place for all of March, so I was thinking of starting then. THANKS!

Sounds pretty good. It can be hard to start doing running and a weights program all at once.. by staggering it your body has time to adjust.

The coolrunning program is considered excellent and I think the website is great. I feel so well informed from reading the discussion board there.. it is a real insurance against injury being informed if you want to run. (if you post there though, be aware it is VERY anti Atkins!!)
