Hi.
Doesn't look like anyone has posted here in awhile. Is anyone active that still does CALP?
Did it years ago but got off track. I want to give it a go again.

Hi Molly,

Calp is still my preferred way of eating though I am not completely on plan at the moment. I would be glad to chat about it any time. Welcome!

Hello Patricia!
Thanks for replying.

I started CALP yesterday but failed miserably. My fault. I simply wasn't prepared. Today I am ON it! Food is ready & mindset is positive and motivated.

Let's do this!

One of the best things that has worked for me, is to do old fashioned menu planning for the week. Right down to any cm snacks, and potential meals out (where I find out the couple of restaurants we are choosing from, look at the menu for each online, and know 2-3 choices for each, that would work for that days rm.) It sounds like a pain, but if I know what I am doing (and in shaky times, I make sure that menu has cm and rm favorites), it just helps me ignore that whispering voice that can try to lead me astray

I so agree. I always check restaurant menus in advance. That way I am not tempted and already have my order in mind.

I am cooking for one so I don't do menus like I used to. But I need to do that for awhile at least to make sure I have everything on hand.

Today's food plan is:
BKF - cheese & spinach omelet and bacon
Morning snack: Hard boiled eggs and celery sticks (I don't eat lunch til 2 so I need a midmorning snack.)

LUNCH: chicken salad and raw veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, celery)

RM: Chicken Tenders, Salad, Brown Rice w/Quinoa, Spinach sautéed in Garlic Butter and maybe something sweet.

Patricia does that sound like I hit the guidelines

As long as your proportions of carb to protein and cm veggie are good at rm, this sounds solid and very good!

Thanks Patricia. I think my proportions were good.
Today's Plan:
BKF: eggs scrambled with ham and pepper jack cheese and 1/4 of a tomato
Snack: chicken salad and another 1/4 of tomato
LUNCH: jerk chicken tenders, green salad
RM: chili cheese dog, green salad and a banana

I am. Just finding it a little harder now to keep on track. I did it 20 years ago and it was a dream. Now I'm single and finding it harder to find the time to do the food prep. But I feel so much better on it, that I keep persevering.

I agree, it really can be a dream. I find whenever I think of how I feel best, I think of being on CALP. It really is a way of eating versus a "diet".

I am. I see this is an old post but felt I should write something.
Did you pick up with CAD/CALP again? How did it go?

I remember getting off track from CAD once when a friend gave me a though(legalistic) lecture on sugar and that CAD/CALP was a bad idea. I loved my friend so somehow I allowed his beliefs into my heart. I really hurt me then but that is forgiven now, water under the bridge.

Bless ya'll.

Boy, I've been all over the map these past several months. The journey has been like trying to head west on Colorado I70 during a construction project, lol! And I'm still trying to get to my designation. I'm a stubborn old crone though and I'm here to take a deep breath and begin again.

Not sure how to proceed after going to bed frustrated and discouraged, I woke up today and started afresh. Just browsing Google I first read this:
https://www.diabetes.co.uk/reversing-diabetes.html

Which lead me to Active Low Carb Forum. I happened to find by accident this post I put up long time ago.

https://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=448912

I'm going to follow my own advice and try this plan again. I have type 2 diabetes so the RM I'll go gently with, however; it makes so much sense. I think I heard something click in my soul. Here's to 2021 being the year! Blessings and thank you to the admin for keeping this forum going.

Hugs, Molly

Welcome back Molly!
This post and the one you posted long ago - a fresh breeze. Look forward chatting with you here in this forum. I am doing CALP because it works. No more blood sugar highs or lows. No blackouts due to too low sugar nor any hyper spikes in my blood - I am so blessed that I was watching Oprah that day when the Hellers were on the show. LOL This was back in the year 1999 - steady blood sugar ever since. Thank God.

Hugs,
HG
