Default Belsoy unsweetened soy milk

Hi Karen or other folks in Vancouver area.... Does anyone know where to get Belsoy unsweetened soy milk these days? I used to get it at Choices; now they say they can't get it anymore. Just made Colin's Omega waffles from Karen's new book and used some fresh Sunrise unsweetened, but can't really figure out the carb count on it and really prefer Belsoy--plus you can stock up on it because it's in a box.

The waffles were great BTW!!!

Thanks for any leads!

I've heard that you can't get it any more because of the strength of the Euro. I used to get it at Caper's but I haven't checked there for it in a while because I'm well stocked.

What I find OK but not as good as Belsoy is the So Nice in the tetra packs.

Those waffles are great! Colin is a genius!

Hi, Karen.

That's amazing--thought the Cdn$ was doing OK relative to the Euro. Too bad....

You're well-stocked, eh? Hmmmm..... Wanna start a sideline? Probably not, I guess. Anyway, thanks for the tip on SoNice in tetra packs. Will check it out.

Have been meaning to let you know how much I'm enjoying your new cookbook...but I keep cooking instead of posting! SO many great recipes, so little time. Tofuroni and cheese is incredible! So are the Tofrites!!! Am feeling very inspired about cooking and LCing again. Thanks!

I'll give you a couple the next time I see you. Just remind me because I'll probably forget.

Wow, that's incredibly generous of you, Karen. I'm touched.

Meanwhile I picked up a tetra pack of So Nice Natural. The nutritional info says 2.6g Carbs, of which 1.4g is sugars. Do you know if that means the other 1.2g is fibre? And that the ECC is 1.4g? It's an insignificant amount in this case but I'd like to understand the principle for when it's not. (I wonder why they do this on soymilks in particular...guess it's pretty special .)

Which brings me to another question--does fibre have calories? If fibre's not listed, I sometimes try to figure out the ECC by adding up the other calories but always end up getting confused (it's not a long trip).

The sugar is included in the total carb count. It has natural sugar in it. You sometimes see the same indication on cans of beans and frozen vegetables.

The soy milk has little if any fiber, and fiber has no calories.
