I make my own ghee for cooking and stay well away from concoctions such as margarine or seed oils for general use.
I've just found out from another forum that Woolies Home Brand butter is grass fed, i.e. has the good proportion of Omega 3s - apparently it comes from New Zealand and is sourced from the company that produces the NZ Westgold brand.
The "home brand" products are strictly Australian, sold by Woolworths, which is a major supermarket chain that had nothing to do with the old FW Woolworth in the USA. However I'd guess that some of the supermarket brand butters in the USA could be from grass fed cows?
I used to buy home brand butter for baking, and didn't like it for eating on breads etc. I buy the Westgold now, and love it. Maybe it's time I checked again if they have changed suppliers.
I actually bought two blocks of Westgold the other day when I was in Woolies, currently at only $2.00 for a 250g block it's not much dearer than the home brand so I got that instead. It's lovely butter - I just keep mine in the pantry, but starting to get a bit hot and it will have to go into the fridge soon.
