I haven't seen that - would be great if it were true - as far as I was aware popcorn has always been quite high on the GI.

Daneo - are you talking Gylcemic Load or Glycemic index?

Traditionally on Montiganc popcorn is OUT! It is really bad

the mean of 2 GI tests on popcorn give an Glycemic Index of 72 (plus or minus 17) and a Gylcemic Load of 7.7. (according to Mendosa site and ngr)

This is for air popped, no butter or oil added. So - this is NOT for movie theatre popcorn - that will be worse...

This makes it one of the high GI Low GL foods, which should not really be eaten in Phase 1 Montiganc, but could be consumed in moderate quantities on Phase 2.

Personally, I avoid it like the plague.... still!

Hope it helps

meant to also mention, Daneo - if you were quoting Glycemic Load value - it should be under 10 for a "fine food to eat anytime".
