Spice Cookies

I tried the Spice cookie recipe that is circulating around on the SS boards. The batter tasted yummy to the point I was fearful there was too much spice in them. After they cooked, it was a whole different story. The most tasteless cookie I have ever eaten!
Anyone else made these and had the same experience?
