Question Low testosterone and thyroid

Hello, everyone! First post for me here, and I have a question/concern...

First, I've been low-carb since 2009. It helped me drop over 60 lbs, improved my mood, and increased my energy levels. However, last week I ran across an article saying that a couple of the side-affects of low-carb is decreased levels of testosterone and thyroid, and that's something I've struggled with for quite a while now, perhaps since I started LC. I'm on prescription meds to counter that, but my levels still aren't where they should be. And the doctors can't figure out why. I keep my net-carb intake to somewhere between 25 and 50 grams per day. Is that too low? Is there something I can do or eat to stay on low-carb while maintaining proper levels of testosterone and thyroid?

As a result of this discovery, I've allowed (reluctantly) a personal trainer to put me on a higher-carb, low-fat diet, but so far all it's done is make me feel bloated and tired.

Try a paleo diet with higher carbs and give the sugar/grains a miss. See if that doesn't fix the bloat. Chose things like yams, squash, fruit for carbs rather than anything with wheat.

So increase carbs. I'll give that a try. Thanks!
