Default Kidney Disease-LCHF-Phosphorous, Meat, Acids-

CKD is NOT cyclical ketogenic diet. It is Chronic Kidney Disease……

The benefits of LCHF on health/weight loss is unrefuted in many, but those with CKD issues are careful with protein consumption, salt, etc. We need LESS salt, but LCHF lowers it, so titrating all these issues can complicate what and how much to eat.

I saw naturapathic CKD dr. Robert Galarowicz on youtube mention phosphorous is added to flavored waters. I drink Arrowhead water w/lemon..called them and they say they add NO phosphorous to their product. great. (He has many short vids on eating blueberries, niacin, etc.) www.healkidneydisease.com is an unpretty site. Anyone use his books and plan? He is an earnest, educated man with a cadaver kidney, and CKD himself, so he knows. I LIKE his lack of 'slick' as more believable. He always gives references.

BUT this study shows :
Phosphorus additives were present in 72% of prepared frozen foods, 70% of dry food mixes, and 65% of packaged meat. (Packaged? I buy local grown grass fed meats..not sure if wrapped in plastic means packaged..do they mean sausages?)

FOR HIGH MEAT EATERS in LCHF diets this is also a warning:
