I really don't think that SPECIALTY stores are necessary to get these any more, I live in a town of 5,000 people and only ONE grocery store, and THEY carry them!! It's a Super Valu, also Cub, and Econo Foods carry them too.
Go to www.latortillafactory.com and put your zip code in, and you should be able to get a store near you!!
Heidi

Good Luck!!
PS KDENISE I looked up your zip and they carry LATORTILLA at Von's and Ralphs.
ANother store is Albertsons
CANDYAPPLE Your stores that carry them are:LOW CARB WORLD INC., and D'LITES - PEMBROKE PIN in Pembroke.

How many carbs and fibers are in the latortilla's? I bought some low carb ones at walmart last week, MISSION brand-they have white and wheat.. I think 7/8 Effective Carbs per serving.

I found LC tortilla's at Walmart, right next to the regular tortilla's. They taste so much better than the La Tortilla's and they are only $1.87 for a pack of 8. They are called Buena Vida and they have 4 net carbs each in the wholewheat version.
They have opened up a whole new wealth of possibilities for meals!
One of my favorites is a wrap with sliced roast beef , blue cheese and baby spinach leaves. Spread mayo on first, roll up and enjoy.

You can get the Mama Lupe's brand at the Walmart Super Stores. They are in the bread section. They have 3 net carbs and taste wonderful!

When they became hard to find for a while I switched to the Whole wheat ones mad eby Mission. More bang for the buck that's for sure and I find them at EVERY grocery store.

At Goodwill I bought an "as seen on TV"-style microwave chip maker. It's a rack that holds your chips upright and not touching in the micro. I cut up the LaTortilla green onion flavor and microwave on high for 12 minutes, then spray w/ butter flavor pam and sprinkle with garlic salt. Yummy, crunchy, low carb AND low calorie.

It's really a cheap-looking crappy gimmick K-Tel product but, for tortilla chips, it really works. Goodwill had like 5 of them, ha!

Default favorite thing to do with low carb tortillas

In Canada we don't have as much choice for low carb tortillas. I do order the whole wheat CarbOle ones by mailorder. They are pretty good. I toast a tortilla up in the toaster oven, and then I spread on Carb Options crunchy peanut butter and drizzle over some sugar-free honey (made by Steels). Delicious, and very, very satisfying.

Cherie.
