On the Atkins plan, nuts are not allowed during the induction period. When you reach the OWL period and the nuts/seeds rung, then this recipe will be great if you can tolerate the nuts (personally, I can't - I get severe stomach cramps). Please be patient .... follow the rungs, and watch for your personal reactions! This WOE really works IF YOU FOLLOW THE RULES ! Otherwise, not so much ....

The nuts are allowed after the first two weeks of induction if you plan on staying in the Induction phase for a while.

This reminds me of something similar I've done, but a little more complex. It consisted of:

Coconut milk
chopped nuts
unsweetend, shredded coconut
sesame seeds
a large pinch of ground flax
a little Splenda or other sweetener

Not counting the sweetener, it's like Paleo breakfast cereal! (Sweeten it paleo-style with some stevia or a dash of honey, of course.) It's rich and quite good! Very filling, too, since it's a bit heavy on the fats/oils, so you don't need to eat much.

Thumbs up Fatbegone

I just bought a huge bag of walnuts the other day and now I have a reason to eat them sounds yummy. I am a very low carber but I think I can definitely make this work for me. I have some s.f. vanilla syrup and I think I will add splenda ( i use the packets with fiber ) and the heavy cream. Yum I think I will have some for breakfast. Thanks for the idea. Requesting more .

You might try adding unsweetened coconut flakes too. They get kind of crispy and brown in the microwave if you microwave them in butter.

I just made this for breakfast! 0.5 c walnut pieces, 1 tbsp butter, cinnamon microwaved for 2 mins and added 1 gram packet of krisda stevia. I poured 1 tbsp heavy cream over top. Holy smokes was this good, thank you a million MizKitty!

tried this hot cereal for breakfast today. Only ate 1/2 of it. It's noon and I'm still full! And it tasted great! I'm going to play with it also. Looks to be a great go to snack too.
