Default LC wraps may be coming to a Subway near you....

They now have LC wraps available at Detroit-area Subways - they have a turkey/bacon/cheese/ranch wrap and a grilled chicken/bacon/cheese/ranch wrap that they are pushing, 11 net carbs each (you can ask for the wraps to be used to make any of their sandwiches). They seem the be the large tortillas like La Tortilla factory makes.

I really like the chicken wrap - my only complaint is the price for what you get. At $4 each, they still cost a bit less than most of their 6 inch subs, but definitely not as filling. Still, very easy and quick when you are in a hurry on the road. I guess they are test-marketing them here, I would guess they are testing in other places too so be sure to check in at your local Subway!

Default LC Wraps at Subway starting Dec. 29th

I saw a few other posts on this but nothing in the general Atkins forum. Saw an ad on television today promoting Subways new LC wraps premiering on Dec 29th.

Doesn't sound like they are not all that big and at approx 11 carbs it may be too much for some but you have to be encouraged at all the choices we have available to us today. Blimpies sandwiches are good but they are harder to find. Whereas there are more Subways than McDonalds!

This is great news!! Plus for those of you lucky enough to have Carl's Jr. or Hardees, you also now have LC choices open to you.

It's a great time to be LC'ing!!

OG

I went to the subway website looking for these wraps. While I was looking I found these new healthy kid packs that they are promoting.
http://www.subway-kids.com/parents/kidspak.html

Its basically a kids lunch with turkey on a roll (no cheese) a fruit roll up, and a carton of juice. 72g of carbs and 4.5g of fat.

Subways website all over it is screaming the benefits of low carb and preaching how bad fat is for you.

I really find it hypocritical that they are now going to offer low carb just to make more money even though they dont believe its healthy in any way.

I dunno, but personally I find it counter productive to preach low fat all over the place and then offer low carb, and if someone asks them why they carry low carb or what are the benefits, what will they say? None? More money for them even though they dont support the ideas behind it?

I agree it is good for us low carbers to have more options in places. I just wish places that promoted low carb actually support the idea or at least help promote the benefits of low carbing.

I really don't care if a restaurant supports my WOE as long as they have the food made the right way. They are in the business of providing food and yes making money. Why else would they be there?
Maybe subway will have 2 advertising campaigns going. One of low fat and they other low carb, who knows.
I don't need anyone to support my WOE, they just need to have the food I need.

VERY well put!

I do think this is great news. I used to love Subway, and I am glad that they are offering these wraps even though 11 carbs is a bit steep.

I just headed over to tne subway site. When fiber is subtracted, there are 8 and 9 carbs per wrap. Really not bad for a meal, I'd just add different veggies than they picked. Eew.

I am munching on my Hardee's lc burger as I read this. I had the double 2/3 lb burger. It is good and very filling. I think it must be around 10 carbs for the double burger, maybe not quite that much. The 1/3 burger is 5 carbs I believe.
I had to laugh, I went through the drive thru and ordered "I'll have the 2/3 lb low carb burger." The reply I got from the service person was "Do you want fries with that?" ha! Is that an oxymoron? I guess anyone not familiar to lcing would not know that fries are not lc. I am sure they are instructed to ask, but I found it hilarious!
I am so proud of myself. I lost 1.5 lbs over the Christmas holiday. I was not even tempted by the chocolate

I am trying them on Monday when they come out. I also saw a commercial promoting them! Don't know which one I will have, probably the chicken. I just had the low carb $6 burger from Hardees and MAN IT WAS GOOD!!! Finally, I didn't have to say "no bun please!" The only drawback was it gave me major onion breath that wouldn't go away. I will post a review on Monday for Subway.

This is great! I have avoided Subway because I didn't want what was available but I will try these. 11 grams of carbs is still high for some people but I think I am at the point where I could have these sometimes. Thanks for the heads up!

The ad I saw on our news said that the new subways would be about 50 cents more.
