Default Yesterday I talked a Prof. DR. about lc diet

He is cardiology doctor .

He saw my blood and urine tests and i also told him many many people like this community are having a healthy life with lc diet.
He asked me how long i said almost 3-4 year.
i told him my daily diet
1 time a day high fat zero carb etc.

First he said congrugilations you dont eat junk foods, prrocessed foods.
Only reason you lost kg is because you get less calorie than you burn.

your blood pressure, colestherol and blood levels are very good because you lose kg not because you eat high fat foods.

Right now your body is in protection mode, our bodies are designed to protect themselves from bad income (food) for a long period of time.
If you continue to eat like this for 10 years suddenly one day your heart gonna give up and you will have big problems with artheries and probable stroke.
FAT is the biggest enemy of your heart
he say doesnt matter butter or olive oil .fat is a fat and should be taken limited.

he says we should eat everything and not limit ourselves with fat or protein . CArbs are a must for a healthy body. with moderation, and always check calories.
if we check calories and exercise everyday is enough.
He pointed what he say is secientificly proven facts and what i do is scientificly very wrong.

I told him see you in 6 years prof. He good man offered me some swiss chocolate (which i didin't eat)

Well, as irritating as that interaction was, looks like u know far more about nutrition and weight management than the cardiologist.

I often think of your meat/ fat plan as a winter option for me. Do u buy grassfed meats to maximize the nutrient content??

Dr. Jack (Madman) Kruse advocates zero carb in winter, on the basis that our evolution would be set up for such.

Interesting! What do you think? Are our bodies really that discerning? I find it weird that I lose weight twice as easily in the winter as I do in the summer. One thing is for sure. A close minded, know-it-all doctor is just as annoying in the summer as he/she is in the fall.

I've found I lose weight easier in the winter. For the last couple years probably near-hermitage made compliance more likely. I'm sure there will be people showing up saying the opposite. Back when the Christmas Season spanned a month of nog and cookies for me, I think I probably gained easier in the winter.

A problem with asserting that sticking to a couple months in late summer/early autumn when fruit is ripe, at least for people living not too close to the equator, and that not being as damaging as eating sugar year-round is that even if somebody set up the study--by it's nature, it's going to be a long study--you have to show that just choosing some other arbitrary short period for sugar consumption, and then eating lower carb otherwise, wouldn't be just as good.

Taking in less calories than you burn is pretty much the definition of fat loss. Or at least there's enough of an overlap in the definitions that calling one the cause of the other is a bit silly. I have a cup of oil, how much oil is in the cup depends on calories in, calories out... He's got the effect being its own cause. Perhaps you're the origin of the universe? And people think low carbers are confused about thermodynamics.

me?

I dont trust beef, cow whatever you say. They are mass produced with many many drugs and beef dont have enough fat .
I eat natural Turkish lambs come from village. Yes they aare more expensive but worth it.
I dont know content. I feel healthy means nutrient is enough IF i need supplements for being healthy it means my diet is WRONG.
Simple

Thank you. You answered my question perfectly. Yes, grass fed is the most nutritious.

Your "Success" is a wonderful example and your doctor is an idiot.

I often wonder what would happen if some doctor decided to study me. I started Atkins in 1972. True, I haven't stuck to plan always because this is a hard path, but I'm in excellent health at 73. No CHD or any other diseases and still walk 3 miles every morning. I can even run.

IMO, you've chosen the best way to eat for your body. Stick with it and you might live forever!

My sentiments exactly. There are still those who claim the earth is flat, and some in the medical profession are usually the last holdouts as they are more worried about reversing themselves, admitting they were wrong, and losing their credibility. Some, however, can step up and face the facts when the evidence is available. I'm hearing more people discussing low carb, Paleo, keto, Whole 30, and other lifestyle approaches that do not discourage healthy fat consumption and minimize carb consumption to achieve improved health. It's becoming a thing . . .

Ironic, isn't it?

He congratulated you on not eating junk food or processed food.... then offered you junk/processed food.

Obviously, you've become far too healthy from eating LC, and you no longer need his services on a regular basis. That will only change if he convinces you that you NEED the carbs. What better way to get you started than by giving you the crack... I mean junk food that will re-awaken the carb addiction?

He had it right about the body being able to handle a poor diet for a long period of time though - that's how there are so many people out there who still look healthy on 20-30 years of carbage (even hearthealthywholegrains, or what might be considered high quality carbs, such as the swiss chocolate), until it finally catches up with them, leaving them chronically ill for the rest of their lives.

Once in the food court cafeteria I was enjoying a Taco Salad. The daughter of a cardiologist told me "three of those a year will take years of the backside of your life, due to all the red meat, cheese and saturated fat." I replied "not unless you eat the bowl."

He is not my doctor, he is a friends father doctor. I only go my family doctor regularlary for usual check ups every 6 months or so (she also overweight).
just want a counsil while he was free, he was kind enough to have a chat . He didn't charge me. He check my results from my ipad. He didn't examine me in detail.
I think he also didn't took me very serious .

I think we can all agree most medical doctors don't take us serious at least from my experience.

I never met a single doctor who approves a single thing we do

Even our families disapprove ha....
lets give docs a break
one day maybe books change.

only one doctor i got angry was in a goverment hospital accused me of taking weight losing drugs made me very angry 2 year ago.

Uberfat--- doctors continue to disappointment. From all specialties. Took son to chest specialist. Said : no surgery. Discussed general physical activity , which I brought up to discuss, as no other prevention or intervention was offered. WASTE OF MONEY. THis was a pediatric thoracic specialist ( child chests) at a big teaching hospital.
THe more I want information and a fix, the more specialists we, my family, access. NONE HAVE A FIX. If not bad enough for surgery, then nothing can be done.
