Some, but not all, branches of H&B have coconut oil for £9.99. I'm not sure if it's the prized 'virgin' kind - it doesn't say so on the tub, but it tastes fine and makes great coconut bark with cocoa and sweeteners.

Thanks so much! I saw that yesterday and it didn't say virgin so I decided to leave it till I had consulted with you guys, but if you say it tastes ok, then I'm going to go for it!
I've bought organic and non-organic coconut oil from local health food shops. It has little or no flavour or smell. I've also bought virgin coconut oil from http://www.virgincoconutoil.co.uk/index.htm. It has a definitely coconutty smell and is quite different from the non-virgin ones. I've actually found it much more difficult to cook with, because I don't always want my food to be coconut flavoured, but it did highlight the difference between the virgin oil and the others.

I DID find a bit of a coconutty taste in the H&B version, but it's reasonably mild, so I don't mind.
I've just rendered some beef suet that I got from my butcher and it made wonderful dripping - terrific for frying meat and veggies. And best of all, it cost me nothing

lol Suee - I suppose I should point out that last year Stevia became legal in the UK! Its a green packet I've seen it in the baking aisle in Waitrose and Tesco too.

Hi, I can't see that anyone else has posted this but I get mine from Tesco! They also do their own version of it as well. They started selling both just before Xmas.
I hope that helps!

Lol! I haven't noticed it in supermarkets but I haven't looked! I have bought it online, waiting for it to arrive now. I have tried the powders previously but I didn't like the soapy aftertaste. What are the brands that you've tried like?

Disgusting to be honest! The worst aftertaste of anything I've tried! I've got canderel's Green Stevia granules. I didn't buy tescos own make because I thought the proper stuff would have less of an after taste but it's horrible.
I'm going to send for some davinci syrup at the end of the month (payday!).

Ah thanks, i will steer clear. I should have said that I've bought some pure liquid, apparently it has no horrible after taste. Will let you know what it's like!
