Talking quit smoking, no weight gain

Hi,
I keep seeing people concerned that they will gain weight if they quit smoking. I quit in March and actually weigh less than when I smoked. I never gained any at all! The key is to stay on the diet and be careful with carb counts. I found that I had far fewer cravings than when I tried to quit before going back on Atkins. I think that a craving is a craving is a craving and when are not eating sugar and junk food and are drinking enough water that you can get through it so much better. I am amazed at how good I feel and at how fast I was able to increase my exercise and aerobics. Best of luck to all of you who are getting ready to quit. Teens

Same here. When I quit I lost weight gradually. I can easily maintain it as well and I even gave up caffiene! It can be done.

Well, I quit last week (with the aid of patches). Can't believe how easy it is. Think the major thing is drinking all that water. Must be flushing all the nicotine right down the drain. Have had no desire to "nibble" on foods, think that is 'cause I know I'll want to smoke straight afterwards...hence I'm loosing weight - woo hoo!! Godda love Atkins!!

I quit last New Year's Eve.... and I worked in a bar! Where I've pretty much been stalled out weight-wise since, I haven't gained my usual 30 lbs like every other time I've quit, so I consider it a victory.

Way to go!
