Default Chicken/oil question

Before Atkins, I used to eat fried chicken, ...But it was made with breadcrumbs......Can you just like fry it in oil?..Or does it get like hard and tough to chew and gross...

I tried eating it boiled...its kinda gross unless its in soup..And its hard that way and sucks..lol...

I dunno, how do you ppl eat it?

I tend to bake my chicken most of the time. You could try using pork rinds as a coating for your chicken to fry them in. I've never tried it but others here have done so. There may even be a recipe in the recipe section.

I normally bake or roast chickens.

Use butter or olive oil, then sprinkle herbs and spices on them before poppng them in the oven.

Only use of boiled chicken for me is soup or chicken salads.

Default Chicken

Hi,

I use the bbq/spicy hot pork rinds to bread my chicken in, and then fry them. I usually dip them in egg first....its very good and I have to tell myself NOT to feel guilty when I eat it..

Good luck!

We coat ours in Paul Newman oil and vinegar dressing, and grill or bake it. Tastes great!

Lightbulb Chicken ideas..

I also dip my chicken in either egg or butter then coat with pork rinds and/or parmesan cheese then bake at 350 for 35 minutes. It's very tender and juicy. I like to top it with Canadian bacon and swiss cheese, or with a thin slice of tomato and mozzrella cheese. Then I put it under the broiler for a few minutes to melt. It's great as left overs, too.

Another good idea is to coat it in a mixture of mayonaise and parmesan cheese, then bake. It gives it a yummy crispy coating.

I actually just put some chicken breasts in the oven, with some Campbell's Ready to Serve cream of mushroom soup (not condensed) poured over them.

Usually I just bake it with some spices, or maybe a little Italian Salad dressing.

Many brits eat fried chicken neat. Just pop the chicken pieces straight in the fat, and cook for the usual time (best to leave the skin on), yummy crispy edges

I too like fried chicken I got some almond meal (of course you can make it by whizzing almonds in your blender) then I make a 1/2 and 1/2 mix of almond meal and parmesan cheese, dip the chicken in whipped egg thinned with some cream then dip the parts in the mix. Then I let it set then back in the egg and mix for a really thick crust. This fries up very nicely add spices to the mix for a treat.

Anyway the other way since I've gone more KISS is I put about a 1/2 inch deep layer of lard in the skillet and heat it HOT about 375 then I toss in the chicken. This makes for an incredible puffed chicken skin, VERY crisp and crunchy with NO coating at all, just wonderful

I drip on a couple drips lemon juice and consume. I use wings for this because they don't take long to cook through. I'm not sure how thighs or thicker pieces would fare if the skin would burn or get soggy from the oil in longer cooking but I will try it eventually.

Then finally for the VERY best in chicken do it on the BBQ. I have a big green egg I use and it's chicken is the bestI have ever had.

Jo

I love hot wings and boneless tenders with hot sauce. Those of you that have a intolerence to vinegar don't try. I cook my boneless chix in "texas pete" hot sauce with some buter. When done I serve with 2 TB of blue cheese dressing. This is a snack of course and I don't have it often. But, when I feel as though I'm going to cheat this is what I have. Very satisfying and not that bad for a "cheat food."
