Default What a day

After 24 years of smoking my wife and I are throwing in the towel and not smoking anymore.

Tips, hints would be nice. Any warnings about spouces doing it together would be interesting.

If we could go it without sugar and white processed and make our lives LC than we will be able to get this nicotine out of our lives.

Thanks

Go to the doctors and get some help like Ziban(i think) on the nicotine patch. It will help ease you off the weed and will help control some of the emotional stuff. I watched a co-worker use these and it was a lot better than her going cold turkey.

Default We really thought about that.

But , did we take a sugar, startch substitute when we started low carb - I think I can beat this devil by accepting the cravings for what they are.

Thanks - if it becomes to much we will get some alternative but I am pretty stubborn.
Thanks

for some people it's best to quit without having the patch, etc. for me it was. I got the flu one day and POOF! It hurt too much to leave my place to get smokes, and that was the day I just quit. It's been 9 months smokefree now! Woo hoo!

I used the Nikorette gum when the cravings got too bad. Bleh! that stuff is wicked bad but it did work. That and I took up knitting, keeping my fingers busy.

Quit in 1990 and wouldn't dream of paying the $10. they want for a pack of the death sticks around here, mind you I'm not richer having quit but at least I don't stink anymore, my teeth don't get grungy looking and I don't have to pass up on buying a book or candles because I need the bux to buy the damn smokes. That's the freedom I appreciate most I think.

Nikotyme - thanks for the suggestion. Agree with you on the price and so far feeling pretty good about it - family is very supportive so this will be the end for me on tobacco products.

Default 1 day down

1 day behind us as we venture into this smokefree life. Be interested in hearing about the pitfalls that we will encounter as time goes on.

Carvings have been up and down and if the neighbors saw me talking to them oh well - it worked so far.
