Default Visual Impact for Women

Hey ladies,
Has anyone heard about or tried the program Visual Impact for Women? It seems to have a different take on weight lifting and uses HIIT as well. I can't seem to find any personal reviews, just book reviews.
The idea and goal of the training to get stronger and leaner, while reducing muscle size. I have a major problem with bulking up and this program is designed to eliminate that, while still gaining strength. So, anyone with personal experience would be a great help to me.

I don't think it is possible to get stronger without gaining at least a little muscle. Your fears are ungrounded as it would be very difficult and you would need to try very hard to have large bodybuilder muscles.

Isn't this the purpose of pilates?

I did! The HIIT cardio workout is perfectly intense and does wonders for your stamina in a short time.
The weight routine did work my muscles and I gained a lot of strength, without gaining muscle mass. So it does do what it says it does. And you feel your workout, but you don't feel like crap the next day, because you don't overdo it.

I didn't follow it through to goal, so I cannot comment on how it makes you look in the long run. I can tell you that though I gained my weight back, plus at least 15lbs, at my new "highest weight ever" - I was still 4 sizes smaller than I was 15lb lighter before this workout. So it *did* something.

Yes. Some of the core workouts include pilates, like the "plank."
This just expands that idea to weight lifting, cardio and the gym.

TChice,

Congratulations on your progress. I wish he had a dvd...I am not much of a reader and I need step by step visuals sometimes especially with the workout.

Thanks - what I did what write down the recommended exercises and take the list to the gym and asked one of the trainers to show me what machines do those exercises. Without that help, I was a bit lost.

Hi TChice,

You said you gained weight after stopping the visual impact for women workouts. So do you it won't provide sustainable weight loss for the long run?
