Talking I'm starting tomorrow

[SIZE=2][COLOR=Magenta][FONT=Comic Sans MS]
Hey everyone, just wanted to say hello to you all, I'm really glad I stumbled across this forum this evening as Im starting Atkins tomorrow. I'm pretty nervous actually, as it all seems a bit too good to be true. I find it pretty easy to stick to diets but usually end up getting bored because results arent quick enough, or something happens and I end up telling myself I'll start again tomorrow... etc etc, you all know how it is! Anyway I'm not a huge red meat fan but the thought of being able to eat eggs, tuna, mayo and chicken is a huge bonus, as well as polish sausage-mmmMMMM. But seriously, it does seem to good to be true, every other diet tells you to 'fill up' on carbs, but I guess thats the issue right? its all about chaning your whole mindset? Anyway, if anyone has any tips for someone about to embark on the world of low carb then they would be so so so appreciated. I have about 28 lbs to lose in order to get myself back to being super skinny like I was before my boyfriend dumped me and I binged for England... freakin men!

Loads of love, x

Well the first thing would be to read the book, if you haven't already. Secondly, I would reconsider being super skinny. This way of eating is all about being healthy.
Good luck to you.

Glad to hear you're starting LC!!!

It is, however, very important that you do read a book or two and follow the plan correctly.

You can get lots of info on the Atkins website: http://atkins.com/ BUT, to truely understand the plan you really should read at least one book. You can purchase most on Amazon.com and other sites. And you can usually borrow the books from your local library. I'd recomend either Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution or one of the Protein Power books. Find the info you need for induction, but then go back and read the book front to back (at least one!LOL)

Have you done any reasearch? Do you know what are acceptable and unacceptable foods? LC is more than just cutting out carbs. You have to make sure you eat enough and eat enough of the right foods.

The reasearch to back up this WOE is amazing. Check out the research forum on here. There are lots of articles.

Here are some links to get you started:

Feel free to ask any questions, there are some very knowlegable people on this board!

And again....welcome!

Hi

Come and have a look at the UK Forum on this site, it has loads of useful information about low-carb in the UK.

The key point to remember is UK food labels already deduct the fibre content so don't deduct the fibre as Atkins says or you'll actually be eating far more carbs than you think

Enjoy your new healthy lifestyle
