Thumbs up Getting Closer to Non-Invasive CGMs

I thought of putting this in the Diabetes forum, but IMO, CGM technology is something I think people should have access to (and start learning about now) well before they are diagnosed with diabetes. A lot of the LC docs want this to become a standard approach long before the other metabolic syndrome symptoms kick in. Y'know, maybe actually correcting a cause instead of just medicating symptoms. Or even earlier: encourage skinny teenagers and other seemingly healthy patients to use one for a while, and have a discussion about diet and spiking BG.

I'll be thrilled when it's something that's on a fitness watch. I bet that's not too far away.

This reads like a really promising development. The less invasive and expensive CGMs become, the better. They could really be the key to personalised nutrition really taking off one day, and maybe even ending the whole concept of national-level dietary guidelines for good.

Oh, I would loooove such a minitor for my teens !! I do wonder if they are TOFI...... sodas have disappeared out of their diet, and sugar too. Just getting meals prepare by me or a teen ,leaves no energy left for making sweets.

They do eat breads, pasta, dried beans , rice and such......not lchf, but not SAD either.

Would like to know, not just guess at their health.

I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question, but I've been wondering about this for a while now. I've seen people with CGMs talk about how they alter their eating to keep their blood sugar level all the time, usually by eating low carb. I'm just wondering if there could possibly be some benefit to fluctuations in BG. Not huge spikes, but more of a fluctuation than you get eating keto.

That said, I would love it if my Apple watch could monitor my blood sugar.
