Default Amino Acid suplementation

when i was buying some BCAAs the other day i was checking out the new rage supplements...mostly the ones that you take pre-workout, such as NoExpode and the like.....

i dont want to take most of the crap in these but i am intrested in some of the ingredients...mainly the Amino Acids...i decided to start taking Creatine as well as Glutamine....and i was wondering if anyone takes any other Aminos that are in these NoExplode-type supplements, like Arginine, Taurine, Tyrosine, phosphocholine (sp?)

i was thinking of buying most of these individually and making my own pre and post workout concoctions. that way i wouldnt have to take in all the fillers and crap in those.

Buddy, stick with the BCCA's but if you do take aminos look for Predigested, free-form aminos. Twinlab has a good source of those.

Or better yet, slam a few protein shakes that consists of milk, egg and whey.

You'll get all the aminos you'll need

Agreed. You're thinking too much into it. Stick to the free-form aminos. I take XTend by Scivation.. but most whey protein powders are now coupled with BCAA's.

well, i dont know, Anthony Colpo, the guy who runs the Low-Carb Muscle site, pretty much recommend BCAAs as the mandatory supplement.

do you guys have any reasons for not using BCAAs. do you just feel you get enough from a protein shake?

I do think BCAA's are necessary.. especially for recovery.

However I can tell you that I stopped taking XTend a few weeks ago and haven't reordered yet.. I really haven't noticed a physical difference in recovery time, soreness, etc. But just because you don't "feel" anything doesn't mean it doesn't work.
