Organic Dairy
Does anyone else go out of their way to get organic dairy and eggs?
I've read so many horror stories about what goes on with the dairy and egg industry in terms of the hormones, antibiotics, etc., in these products, which was the main reason why I was trying to be a vegan before. But vegan lowcarbing doesn't work for me so I'm back on the dairy and eggs. I can find range-free eggs without a problem in my area but there aren't many organic dairy products in my local supermarket. So this morning I drove to a more elaborate supermarket which is further away in the hopes of finding more choices. It paid off - I found quite a bit of organic dairy (cottage cheese, sour cream, hard cheeses, cream cheese). In fact, I found almost everything that I use on a regular basis in organic form (except for feta cheese and swiss ) as well as the range-free eggs, so I feel a lot better about eating dairy now .
