Just say NO to low fat!
My advice to you is to avoid low fat diets and try the Schwarzbein plan for a few weeks. I started it 7 weeks ago and thought there was no way I'd lose weight eating all that fat. Now I'm 10 pounds lighter! What's more, I don't even feel like I've been dieting. I can definately do this for the rest of my life.
I've never been good at restricting my calories and fat intake. With SP, I can eat all day if I want to (but I have no desire to anymore) and I will still lose weight. It's amazing!
If you feel you will be lost without starch, look at the SP2 eating plans. A lot of them include half a baked potato, small amounts of oatmeal, brown rice, ak mak crackers (which are very tasty), and Ezekial bread. Or if you prefer, you can have some fruit as your carb.
But don't take my word for it--read her book. It makes a lot of sense.
GOOD LUCK!!
